I thinking Summit are making excuses. Lets be honest. The only reason Rochelle got dropped was because of her age (not being under 25 like the rest of the cast) and in this male dominated industry they probably deemed her to be unattractive.
Summit are over-looking a major problem here. The Twilight Saga attracts a bigger cohort then the under 25s and teenage market. Real women want to see 'real women' on the big screen.
If Summit were looking to make cut backs, they should of looked in the direction of Kristen Davis.

They did this because the new actor is better known in the industry. She has been nominated for many awards and is known as a great actress, so when they had the chance to cast her, they took it right away. I think that is so stupid and disrespectful to Rachelle as well. I wont be seeing Eclipse without Rachelle.

As much as I respect Dallas Bryce Howard, what Summit is doing is a insult to the fans and a blatant betrayal of Rachelle Lefevre.
Actresses - like humans - need to work. Rachelle should be expected and entitled to take the other small role.
Those criticizing her should ask if Bryce Howard should be allowed to work or if she should remain jobless awaiting a reprise of her Spiderman role.
Scheduling this in would be child's play for a competent production team, so Summit is clearly using this as an excuse.
So is there more to this? Perhaps it's retribution or an attempt to ingratiate themselves to Hollywood illuminati.
I don't even like Twilight, but I was impressed with Rachelle's performance and intrigued to see what happens when her character's dark side starts to figure more prominently.

I am very upset that Rachelle is being replaced! She really personified Victoria, and fans will NOT be happy about this! I know I'm not! For crying out loud, it's only 10 days for her other film, not 10 weeks or 10 years! Twilight fans want Rachelle for Victoria! That's what is supposed to matter is the fans and what we think. Maybe if enough of us rally together and voice our opinions Summit will change their mind!

Wow. I do hope that other Twilight fans will indeed boycott all Summit films in the future. The facts are that the Summit is reaping the huge monetary benefit of a great series of books, a great cast of actors and actresses, and now, a great fan base. Changing a major character for something this silly reeks of a separate agenda on Summit's part. I personally will choose to avoid any and all Summit releases in the future. I feel no need to support their lame choice by giving them more money to line their pockets. Gotta put my money where my mouth is!

I'd bet every penny I had that Summit would bend over backwards to accomadate Robert Pattinson's schedule. What this situation basically boils down to, is Summit jumped at the opportunity to replace a lesser known actress with a "name". They've gotten a taste of the limelight and now they're getting greedy. I'm done with Summit Entertainment's films, they're a shady bunch.

I don't find it fair that they can just choose to recast her this far into the series. For once it would be nice if the entire original cast of a series could go all the way to the final film!

I agree that Summit has made a horrible mistake. I'm also not in the target range and happen to love Stephenie Meyers Twilight series and saw the Twilight movie 4 times in the theater. Rachelle was exactly what I imagined for Victoria and I think she did an amazing job. I believe that Summit has completely let down the fans of Twilight and I hope that they feel the backlash from this mistake. It's not that I do not like Howard, i think that she could do a decent job IF she were to of been cast in the series from the begining, the problem is she wasn't. Eclipse is Victorias defining role and to change actresses now is a horrible horrible mistake!! Even though Rachelle plays the villian she is well loved by all the fans and I hope Summit doesn't expect them to accept this news!!

Yeah Summit basically ruined their consistency now. No one like movies where they switch actors for the same part. It makes them less professional and credible. No on takes them seriously anymore, and just can't get into it. Summit made a huge mistake, and I'm sure they will suffer greatly in sales for this epic failure on thier part.
