the press and photographers will say and do anything 4 some change...who doesnt get spankings and from what i watch on her show, all them kids are bad and should have been getting spankings along time ago....Instagators make me so sick. It's amazing! Most of the people posting in reaction to Kate spanking her daughter are female and are saying it's really no big deal, if it were Jon or any other man it would be child abuse and there would be an attorney hired already by Kate. Jon, if I were you I'd get an attorney! But who am I? Not a celebrity just speaking from personal experience.

She spanked her, she didn't beat her. If you have ever seen the show, clearly those children need a spanking every once in a while. As far as doing it in front of the paparazzi, can she really avoid that since they are in her face 24 hours a day. Leave the poor lady alone. As if she doesn't already have enough to deal with. Kids get spanked, just because hers are on tv doesn't make them any better than any other child.

Leave Kate alone!! For petes sake all she did was spank Leah. Its not like she is beating them to death. I mean seriously she has 8 kids, its stressful. I live with a big family and it gets stressful. Dont the paparazzi have a life too. Have you guys not ever been spanked? Its not like she is out to abuse her daughter. Leah was being loud and was told to stop. SHe should have listened. Jon should be acting more like a father and be there for his wife.

I think it is absolutely insane to question the safety of their children...because they are having issues in their marriage doesn't mean she is a terrible parent!! Maybe more people need to spank...take a look at the youth today! There are so many injustices in the world and for whatever reason this is what we decide to highlight!!! Why don't people worry about the log in their own eye...before trying to remove the sliver in other peoples eyes!!

Wow. My parents spanked me a lot when I was a kid. All you paparazzi people need to chill out! Okay, that's what parents SHOULD do if their kid isn't listening, otherwise when they're older they will step all over you! So all you crazy, nutcase, left-wing people (no offense) need to take a chill pill and maybe tighten the grip on your children. If you haven't been stern like that with them before, there's a good chance they ARE brats and you don't even want to admit it.

yea yea she spanked her daughter, but for what reason we don't know. I just hope she doesn't make it a habbit in doing it. The kids have no fault in what is going on with the two (JON& KATE).I guess now that Jon isn't their she can't handel the kidos and look at the kids they look all homeless, but hey she is always dressed up any lookin all good and know that the kid are making her famous she decides that she no longer need Jon. SHE IS ALL FOR THE MONEY!

good for you kate I think that sometimes that's what is needed for your kids to listen to you. I also think that people who think that children shoulnt be spanked have a problem look at what some of these children are doing now in our world so if you think a little tap on the bottom is wrong then may be you need to get a life. It's really a slow news day when an "open handed pop on the butt" makes headline news. Kids need some dispipline. There's nothing worse than being in a resturant or shopping and some brat keeps whining and crying over and over and the parents just look the other way. Hurray for Kate. This show has afforded those children a life that most children dream of. They've had so many opportunities that they would have never had if it weren't for Kate.

Anyone agree it may be time to do away with "reality TV" and leave people to deal with their dramas in private? What is the point of criticizing this family anyway? Have we been placed in a position of authority and asked to judge others?
I like the show but have my own life to live with family issues to manage.

Good if more people spanked bratty kids when they needed it I could have some peace in Walmart! I don't spank because I don't have to. My son is well behaved, but if he pushed me to far I think a swat on the rear end is appropriate. Leave them alone, what would people say about the jerk who leaked the story if we spend a day looking at him under a microscope? Just some food for thought.

Oh, my goodness!!!! She was disciplining her child! So spanking your child is going "all Chris Brown" on the girl....that is rediculous, and that is wrong with this world today. That comment makes me sick! I would have spanked my child too, is she were blowing a whistle when I was on the phone and wouldn't stop after I told her too.

I don't watch the show, but people(not Kate) are getting out of control with freaking out over kids being spanked. Some people would wanna put everyone who has spanked their child in jail for child abuse, hello!! how many of our parents would be sitting there now if they did that when most of us were young? If a child is misbehaving they should be punished and if time outs aren't working then you take it to the next level. You know your kids and 95% of us know the difference between spanking and abuse. If you are one of the ones saying spanking is abuse then keep putting your kids in time out while I spank my kids butt when they deserve it! Thats whats wrong with most of the little unruley punk kids of today, they are sitting in time out figuring what they can get away with next!

Good Job Kate! Spankings are a requirement with all kids of all ages! As my grandmother says, "If you have no ears to hear me you can feel me!". If no one recognized Kate has EIGHT kids if and honestly if it were me I'd walk with a belt at all times. Keeping one child still is hard enough but EIGHT, yea cameras or no cameras she did the right thing and if she only spanked them behind the scenes would that make everyone feel better? For all those who had a problem with the spanking go get yourself EIGHT kids and then give your REAL opinion, you'd probably agree all kids need to be spanked now and then, not abused but spanked there is a difference!

The only time I spanked my now 14 daughter was when she went out onto our busy road. You better believe I spanked her. I do not know what caused the spanking. I think Kate is pretty high strung. This coming from a person who is high strung. Though I don't care for her and will not watch the show if she is the only one on it, I do not think it is out of line to spank your child on a rare occasion.

I'm sure dealing with all those children, they can work a nerve. If a child is acting out, I say spank their behind. I mean, who is the parent & who is the child these days? Take me to jail, I'm tipping a child right on their a$$ if you get out of line with me. I'm sure the cop & camera guy reporting this mess don't want to dealing with a child acting up! PLEASE! Spank them, spank them all if they're misbehaving!
