Last week on The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris nixed Tanner Pope and Jake Pavelka despite rumors that one of the other guys in the house had a girlfriend.

That guy was Wes Hayden, obviously, and while Wes hasn't admitted to having a girlfriend, he admitted he was on the show for the music not for the girl.

This all came to a head last night in hilariously contrived fashion.

The first four hometown dates - Reid in Philadelphia, Michael in Valencia, Calif., Kiptyn Locke in Encinitas, Calif., and Jesse in Carmel, Calif., seemed rushed, crammed into the first 45 minutes. It eventually became clear why this happened.

Last night’s episode was really about two things alone:

  1. Jake Pavelka returning and confronting Wes Hayden.
  2. The long-predicted return of Ed from Chicago.

Both of these things happened during Jillian Harris' final hometown date, to visit Wes' family in Austin, Texas. Upon her arrival, Wes tells Jillian that she's meeting his family, but she meets his other family - his band - first.

He played his song for her again. It was terrible again.

Then came the return of Jake. Jillian was worried Jake was coming to get her back, but that's wasn't the case. He was coming to rat Wes Hayden out.

Jake (left) told Jillian that Wes (right) had a girlfriend named Laurel.

Jillian was visibly upset. Jillian asked Wes Hayden point blank if there was anything he needed to tell her and he said, "no." Jillian told him what Jake said. Wes claimed that Laurel was an ex-girlfriend that he's still good friends with.

Jillian brought the guys together to hash it out. Jake said he was going to hold Wes "accountable," but Wes denied it and Jake was left crying in the hallway.

After the drama, Wes and Jillian went on to meet his family for dinner. That went well. But Jillian had one more surprise before the rose ceremony. It was Ed.

He said he needed to "re-prioritize" and asked for another shot. Jillian was tongue-tied but invited him to the rose ceremony to vie for a rose with the others.

Jillian had four roses and now six guys. Cue dramatic music.

Just how contrived and/or staged were these two developments?

According to reliable sources, while Wes Hayden may be a complete douchebag, he is getting at least partially hosed as far as editing goes. His comments about girlfriends and "tasting" fame are taken largely out of context.

Susan Boyle is on the verge of conquering the singing universe.

Might the acting world be next?

According to various sources, the Britain's Got Talent sensation will guest star on a fall episode of Ugly Betty. She'd play herself on the ABC hit.

Betty Suarez

“Susan has been bombarded with offers of work in America, but this is something she is really keen on and we hope to make happen,” an insider told Great Britain's The Sun.

A spokesperson for the Scottish singer won't confirm or deny the story, simply saying: “Susan has many offers on the table. At the moment she is looking forward to recording her album.”

Perhaps we can help Boyle and ABC reach an agreement, though. What do you think? Aren't Susan Boyle and Betty Suarez too perfect of a match? Doesn't this need to happen?

If confidence is sexy, then Robert Pattinson may be the ugliest person on the planet.

In a new interview with The Improper, the Twilight star is asked to judge his own looks. His answer would likely shock fans around the globe.

Cute Concert Goers

"I never really considered myself attractive," the actor said. "I was always kind of gangly in school."

Seriously, folks. Robert Pattinson does not consider himself to be attractive. What's next? Will Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag say they don't want publicity?

In the Twilight book, Edward Cullen is described as an "unspeakably beautiful Adonis" by his eventual lover, Bella Swan.

Sounds perfect for Pattinson, right? Not so much.

"That’s the reason I didn’t want to go in for the part initially, because it’s really putting yourself out there," the New Moon star said. "Going in for the audition, I felt like a bit of an idiot. I felt prejudged by anyone who turned up to the casting. I just thought even having the gall to go in means you’re a bit of an arrogant prick."

As for his sex appeal, Pattinson somehow doesn't see it.

"Good-looking? Noooo. Before I go out to face a crowd, I stare and stare at myself in the mirror until I have to tell myself to stop staring, since there’s nothing I can do.”

We think we speak for every woman in the world when we say: there's no need to do anything, Robert. No need at all.

The late Michael Jackson was not the biological father of any of his three children.

Moreover, his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, is actually not the biological mother of the two children she bore for Michael, according to a report on TMZ.

Vintage Michael Jackson

Multiple sources deeply connected to the births of Michael Jr., (aka Prince Michael Jackson I), Paris Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II (aka Blanket) claim Michael Jackson was not the sperm donor for the kids.

Nor were Debbie Rowe's eggs used.

All three children were conceived in vitro, outside the womb.

Debbie Rowe, it turns out, was merely the surrogate, and was compensated well for her services in the births of Michael Jackson Jr. and Paris Jackson.

In the case of Prince Michael Jackson II (Blanket, the youngest), TMZ says the surrogate was never told the identity of the "receiving parent" - Michael Jackson.

Three days after Prince was born at Grossmont Hospital in San Diego County, Jackson's lawyer came to the hospital to pick the baby up and deliver him to Michael.

It is unclear if Michael Jackson selected the sperm or egg donors or if he even knew anything about who Blanket's biological parents were.

If neither Michael Jackson or Debbie Rowe is a biological parent, what does that mean for the fate of Prince I, Prince II and Paris now that the King of Pop is gone?

Although Debbie Rowe is not the biological mother, some insiders say it is not a slam dunk that she would lose a custody battle for Michael Jr. and Paris.

Not shockingly, this type of case has never been litigated in California.

Since Rowe was married to Michael Jackson when Michael Jr. and Paris were born, there's a presumption (in legal terms) that she's the biological parent.

That presumption can be rebutted by other evidence.

There are apparently documents outlining the whole arrangement for the birth of all three kids. For now, though, it remains an open issue with the courts.

Rowe is said to have tried to contact Jackson's family since his death Thursday, but sources close to her say she has not actually communicated with them.

In one of the more head-scratching statements in the Michael Jackson case so far, the lawyer repping Dr. Conrad Murray claims his client didn't call 911 immediately upon discovering Jackson unable to breathe and with only a faint pulse.

He waited 30 minutes before calling for help.

Attorney Edward Chernoff explained this somewhat odd revelation regarding the Michael Jackson 911 call by saying that Dr. Conrad Murray didn't call from his cellphone because know the exact address of Michael Jackson's rented mansion.

The house Jackson was renting is just above Sunset Blvd. in Beverly Hills, one of the most famous streets in the entire United States if not the world.

Chernoff said Murray eventually got someone in the house to make the 911 call. That (presently unknown) person is who is heard on the reporting.

Conrad Murray has already taken heat for performing CPR on Jackson as he was lying on a bed. CPR is usually done on a hard surface, like a floor.

Chernoff's excuse: it was a "firm bed."

Conrad Murray is not a suspect in any crime. Yet to some people close to the Michael Jackson case, his decisions on Thursday and prior to that may have been suspect.

Lastly, the doctor's attorney says the cardiologist - whose certification expired as of December 31 - is owed $300,000 by the promoter of the star's concerts.

Chernoff said that AEG Live is two months behind on paying Dr. Conrad Murray to serve as Jackson's personal physician during the run of the shows in London.

Randy Phillips, CEO and president of AEG Live, says the contract to pay Dr. Murray required Jackson's signature. Phillips says Jackson didn't sign the agreement.

Phillips says the firm had been negotiating to pay Murray $150,000 a month.

He says the company was only advancing the money to Michael Jackson, and the doctor's claim may now be against the singer's estate, over which disputes are already building. There is some confusion over whether a will exists and what it says.

Maria Belen Chapur is 43.

She is from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is a divorced mother of two teenage boys who wants to believe she can still experience true love.

She is an intensely private woman, and one who was not afraid to fight back when she felt that her all-important privacy had been breached.

She was educated in Catholic schools and has professed her belief in God, evil and the afterlife, and yet joined Mark Sanford, a married father of four sons, in violating the Seventh Commandment prohibition against adultery.

Maria Belen Chapur has successfully eluded the news media since the South Carolina Governor publicly and tearfully revealed their yearlong affair last week.

Friends and family have enfolded her and her boys in a protective cocoon, and the only known image of her is a grainy, eight-year-old video from her brief moment in front of the cameras as a television reporter in New York.

Other than a 200-word statement denouncing a hacker's "evil act" of leaking her passionate emails with Sanford, Maria Chapur has maintained her silence.

"I won't speak about my private life as it just belongs to me," she wrote to a former TV colleague, after confirming her affair with Sanford via a statement.

"It has already been made too public in these days, bringing me more pain."

Due partly to the loyalty of friends and family, as well as tougher Argentine privacy laws, relatively little is known about Mark Sanford's "other woman."

In fact, much of what we know about Chapur comes from her own emails, which found their way into the hands of South Carolina's The State newspaper.

The L.A. County Coroner's office has confiscated various prescription drugs from the late Michael Jackson's rented Holmby Hills mansion, according to reports.

As Jackson's perplexing medical history continues to raise questions, Chief Investigator Craig Harvey confirmed that a team from the medical examiner's office, including a photographer and Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, had been in the house.

The investigators emerged from the residence toting two large plastic bags, declining to mention any specifics of what they found inside or where.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the LAPD is in the process of interviewing a number of doctors who prescribed medication for Michael Jackson.

The initial Michael Jackson autopsy performed Friday was ruled inconclusive pending the results of toxicology tests in 6-8 weeks, although it has been confirmed that the singer, who died at age 50, was taking prescription medication.

A second autopsy requested by the family was performed the following day. The "leaked results" of the first autopsy going around are fabricated.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

We don't know for sure what caused Jackson's sudden heart failure, but his longtime friend Dr. Deepak Chopra has little doubt drug use may have come into play.

"He was extraordinary when he was in his ecstatic states. But he was also troubled, and he surrounded himself with people who were enablers and frequently avoided people who were trying to help him," he told CBS' Early Show.

"In the year 2005 after the trial, he came and stayed with us for a few days, and during that time he asked me for a prescription for OxyContin," he continued.

"I was very surprised, and I said, 'Why do you want that?' And he said, 'I have back pain.' And I said, 'You don't need that narcotic for back pain.' As I probed, I found out he was taking a lot of narcotics prescribed by different physicians."

"Somebody like that is obviously not in a normal state of consciousness," he said. "After a while, they actually believe that if they didn't get their fix, the drug, they might die. When taking narcotics, you need to be with very competent doctors."

Therein may lie the rub.

Despite claims not to have given Jackson OxyContin or Demerol, Dr. Conrad Murray, was working without board certification at the time of the star's death.

Specifically, the American Board of Internal Medicine confirmed that Dr. Conrad Murray's most recent board certification examination was taken in 1998.

His certification expired December 31, 2008.

Sacha Baron Cohen will say anything to anyone.

This was evident in Borat and, based on the previews we've seen and the Bruno quotes we've heard, it's evident in his latest comedy, as well.

But give Cohen credit for not simply talking the talk; he most definitely walks the walk.

From shoving his bare ass into Eminem's face at the MTV Movie Awards, to riding into the Australian premiere for Bruno on a horse, this is one star whose inhibitions are always lower than those of a coked-up Lindsay Lohan.

Below, Cohen dresses the part during the opening of Bruno Down Under. Click on each photo for a larger version of it...

Okay, what is this nonsense. Come on Lady Gaga.

We know you are trying to push the fashion envelope and whatnot, and look as weird as you possibly can. But not even you can pull off a giant button on your head.

Sometimes, there is a thing as trying too hard. Instead of putting buttons on your head, why not focus on removing any and all buttons and the rest of your clothes.

That Lady Gaga nude Rolling Stone cover was quite popular, after all, and will surely get you more of the attention you clearly desire than this will. We're just saying.

Where Lady Gaga comes up with these ideas, no one can say.

Fortunately, this low point in celebrity fashion history was debuted at an event a good cause, at least. Lady Gaga attended an AIDS charity gathering held by Body Positive North West in Manchester, England, on Monday.

The 23-year-old singer said: “I have a lot of gay and lesbian friends who are confronted by the fears of that sort of lifestyle. I am a very supportive, proactive woman and I really just wanted to paint with them today.”

Amen to that, Button Head. Click to enlarge more Lady Gaga pictures ...

This isn't exactly breaking news, nor is it the most exciting celebrity gossip story you'll read today.

But don't blame us. Blame Kim Kardashian.

If the reality TV star would go back to making sex tapes, or posing nude in Playboy, we could report on something other than the fact that her and LaLa Vazquez went shopping in Beverly Hills this week.

Alas, this is all we have at the moment. Even Kim herself seems bored by this activity, as she's seemingly telling a photographer, in the shot below, that there are more interesting things to snap pictures of than her jaunt across the street:

Street Walkers
