Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime partner, David Burtka, are planning to have their first child together via a surrogate mother, according to reports.
These reports turned out to be false.
The 2009 Tony Awards host and hilarious How I Met Your Mother star has been with Burtka since 2004. So taking the next step would make sense.
The agency handling the surrogacy was said to be Growing Generations, the same one used by Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker.
That surrogacy made headlines earlier today when a pair of Ohio cops were busted for allegedly plotting a break-in at the surrogate's home.
As far as David and Neil's baby is concerned, Star quoted a source saying they had gone through the surrogacy process and been approved.
Apparently, this was untrue.
“Neil and David were so relieved and excited once they were approved,” says a source reportedly close to the couple. “Neil and David can’t wait to hold their baby; they don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl. They just want a healthy child.”
UPDATE: A spokesperson for the couple just released a statement debunking these rumors. The rep said: “If Star says it, then it must be true! No, we are not currently expecting a baby. Maybe someday ...”
