After affairs, scandals and months of speculation, the 10-year marraige of Jon & Kate Plus 8 stars Kate and Jon Gosselin appears to have come to an end.
Documents to initiate a legal separation of the Gosselins were filed at the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown, Penn., Monday afternoon, People reports.
Fans who have watched the couple's popular TLC show – or read the voluminous coverage of the Gosselins' marriage woes in the press – will not be surprised.
Reports that Jon Gosselin is a cheater first arose in February.
The father of eight was seen in the company of young women during a solo visit to see his mother, who was recuperating from surgery, in Huntingdon, Pa.
The couple attempted to quash the rumors, but in May, the scandal erupted when Deanna Hummel, 23, was spotted driving Jon's car home from a bar (above).
When the fifth season of the Gosselins' show premiered May 25, the couple admitted to having problems and not knowing where their relationship was headed.
"Parents of multiples have triple the divorce rate," an introspective Kate Gosselin lamented through tears and her reverse-mullet-dead-porcupine-weave hair.
"I thought we would beat that. I don't know if I can say that anymore."
TLC promotions of the hit series have been promising a major announcement about the family in this evening's "special" episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8.

They go to Hawaii, renew their vows after promising the children they will be together forever,then they go cheat on each other and get divorced. If they can't keep promises then don't make them!!! Now the question is who filed the papers.

Hello, more proof that to have a strong family, you first have to have a strong marriage........and it's been obvious to the world that they never had that. The tv show gave Kate all the power, she abused it/abused Jon. She was glorified as the ultimate mom so she wrote her books and thus became too glorious to actually MOTHER her children on a regular basis, then Jon was forced to quit his job so he could take over the parenting duties while she went out and promoted herself as the ultimate mother. If there had never been the tv show, their life would have gone on with him being the moderately hen-pecked husband who still had his work to escape to/make him feel some self-worth, and they would have at least survived. The tv show gave Kate the power to abuse EVERYONE - she said it herself "I've never been happier."

Kate is never sincere - never real. It's all for show. Did anyone count up the cliches and platitudes from Monday's show? I bet it's 20 or 30. In fact... did she say anything that wasn't a cliche? I don't think so... still putting on the martyr show. Poor kids.

I think these comments are pretty damn harsh. Divorce is a very very difficult thing to go through for all parties involved; the kids and the parents. Everyone commenting on what Jon did worng and what Kate did wrong and what they should be doing…really people?? Just take a look at what you are writing about these people!!! It makes me sick! To all of you quoting the Bible and telling us what God would want for them…seriously?!? I thought to be a Christian (or how I was raised anyways) is to love, show and guide people to the best of your abilities. Do not judge. Everyone, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, though you should never ever judge someone to the degree that is being done on this site. If one of your daughters or sons came to you one day and had a BEAUTIFUL family but told you they were so unfufilled and so sad with their life…would your advice be to deal with it, this is what you chose? I dont think so. I truly believe that Jon and Kate are two regular people that may have got a litte caught up in the lime light but at the end of the day, their personal decisions for their love life are theirs and theirs alone and I dont think it is fair to judge. Yes, they made the ultimate decision to come into our homes once a week on our TVs, but I think the real victims are them, afterall WE were the ones who have been treating THEM like celebrities all this time.
The point of the show, and always has been in my eyes, is Jon and Kate PLUS 8!! It still is them, they are trying to make it work in the way they think best. Who the hell are ANY of us to place such major judgement on these people.

My concerns are for their children. They talk about putting their children first, yet have failed to protect them. We know what state they live in, what their house looks like, the scenery of their town, not to mention the childrens names. I can’t help but worry for their safety and it brings me back to Dylan and Shasta whom were taken by a sex predator after he watched them for 3 days. They have exposed their special gifts from God, for money, which is hard to stomach as a mother. The soul of a child is the lovliest flower that grows in the garden of God.
I wonder how Eileen O’Neill, the president of TLC , can look at herself in the mirror knowing what their net work is doing.
