When it comes to her blonde hair, The Hills' Heidi Montag typically prefers a head full of waves with the volume amped up to 11 – if you know what we mean.

We mean showing as much of it as possible. You can't tame that mane!

Nana Watches Speidi Smooch

However, sometimes she opts for a change of pace. During a recent lunch in Beverly Hills with her grandmother-in-law (Spencer Pratt's Nana), the newlywed kept her hair on the straight-and-narrow, condensing it into a sleek style.

Which hairstyle do you prefer? Tell us in the survey below:

Hey, don't we all? Janis Winehouse says her songbird daughter has turned to booze to "overcome the boredom of being away from her friends" while in St. Lucia.

Never mind that Amy seems to make plenty of friends in St. Lucia, or that she could easily return to the UK at any time, since she has no job. But whatever.

Earlier this month, Winehouse shocked fans (but not us, in the least) with an erratic performance at a jazz festival on the Caribbean island and was hospitalized.

Dehydration, a.k.a. an epic bender, had taken its toll.

Perhaps all Amy needs is some familiar faces around to make her relax ... just not Blake Fielder-Civil, of course. Janis Winehouse told Closer magazine:

"Two of her closest friends are going over to try to calm her down a bit. I think it will make a big difference because in the past few weeks she's bored."

Lucid Wino

A surprisingly lucid Amy Winehouse and her mum, Janis.

"Amy knows her drinking caused the [disastrous performance]. Of course her band is frustrated, but even they can't stop her," the elder Wino said.

Amy's dad, Mitch Winehouse, has supported the Grammy-winning singer throughout her addiction problems but Janis says he is "now having time out from her."

"He hasn't cut her off," she said. "But he's taken a step back."

Last week Amy pulled out of a gig to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Island Records - forcing about the 482nd apology from her management.

However, Janis remains confident that her daughter will beat the booze.

She said: "It's just another one of Amy's addictions getting the better of her. It is just another demon she has to beat. She came off drugs on her own so I know she'll stop drinking. It has to be her decision though, no one else can stop her."

Never mind that she "came off drugs" by becoming a full-blown alcoholic and pothead. A parent can convince herself of just about anything, it seems.

Is Adam Lambert remaining coy about his sexual orientation because he believes it's nobody's business? Or because it's a way to milk publicity for as long he keeps people wondering about it?

We hope it's the former, but it's hard not to consider the latter, based on the latest interview given by this season's American Idol runner-up.

Via People magazine, Lambert told those curious about whether or not he's gay to "calm down," yet he also encouraged them to "keep speculating."

Flamboyant Finalist

Lambert added:

"It's a really, really cool thing to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you're about, and never make apologies for it."

We couldn't agree more.

However, by never directly addressing his sexual orientation, Lambert runs the risk of not fully abiding by his own words. If you're gay, Adam, be proud, own it and certainly don't apologize for it.

Do you think Adam Lambert should admit that he's gay?

It's a question asked often by Christians:

What would Jesus do?

Total Mess

While we don't claim to be experts on the long-haired Messiah, we have a feeling he'd tell Miley Cyrus to shut the heck up.

In a recent Twitter post, Cyrus compared Jesus to both a first aid balm and an expensive fashion company. To wit:

We don't know the identity of Twitter user "@jordanyup," but we do know that Neosporin is an antibiotic ointment that's used in the prevention of infection.

Let's hope Miley and Justin Gaston are using a lot more than it in their sex life, however. Otherwise, instead of asking what Jesus would do, Cyrus will be calling Bristol Palin for advice.

If this didn't involve eight adorable children, it would be hilarious.

Despite the fact that she makes up to $75,000 for every episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8, and despite the fact that she's considered a fame-obsessed "monster" for spending more time at autograph signings than with her family, Kate Gosselin is releasing yet another book.

According to, Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories, will be released on October 13.

The back cover reads: "Fans... won’t want to miss this inside look at one of America’s most famous close-knit families," as the book also promises to teach readers "how to craft family traditions that create happy memories" and "how to feed a large family on a budget."

See, we told you it was funny.

Critics are already jumping all over Gosselin; they wonder how a woman that once said "real cooks don't need recipes" could be qualified to write a cookbook. (This, of course, implies that she was actually the person who wrote it.)

Other comments on accuse Kate up "plagiarism" and point out that she's pretty much never once cooked a meal on the show.

But, hey, it's another chance to make money and headlines, while avoiding time at home with those eight pesky kids. How could she turn it down?!?

During an on-air game of "Shoot, Shag or Marry" - in which players must decide what they would do to three different individuals if they were forced to make the choice - Katy Perry admitted lustful leanings toward John Mayer ... if only be default.

The singer's other options during the game, played on Australian radio show 2Day FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show, where Benji Madden and Pete Wentz.

"I couldn't marry John Mayer, it'd be so intense," Katy Perry explained. "I'd definitely shag the sh!t out of him though. I'll go on record saying that."

SHOOT, SHAG OR MARRY? For Katy Perry, it was an easy call when it came to John Mayer. He has a way with the ladies. And the douchebag strikes again...

Sex but no commitment, nice breasts and fond of a photo op? Sounds like John’s dream! Travis McCoy might want to keep an eye on Perry’s twitter.

Pete Wentz got the ring and Benji Madden got the bullet, BT-dubs.

Forget forks, spoons or even her little fingers.

When you're the daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom freaking Cruise, you don't deign to eat dine any differently than when you're downing sushi at Nobu.

Star Magazine says Suri eats only with chopsticks. Those are the only utensils this three-year-old will even go near. She's very cultured, don't you think?

According to a conveniently anonymous source, Suri Cruise simply “doesn’t like to eat with anything else.” Why would she? BOW DOWN to the queen!!

We believe this completely made-up story is supposed to imply that Suri Cruise is some sort of snobby little brat. Or just really interested in Asian cultures.

During a recent visit to posh bakery Le Pain Quotidien, Tom Cruise’s spawn supposedly “wouldn’t touch her sandwich and pastries without them!” Naturally.

To top this ridiculous story off, poor Katie Holmes now has to lug around a pair of her daughter’s preferred eating untensils in her Hermes Birkin bag.

Says the spy,  “It’s the only way she can get her to eat!”

Amidst growing controversy that AT&T helped to rig this season's American Idol results, the show wants to make it clear:

Kris Allen is the champion.

Earlier today Fox, Idol producers 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia issued the following statement:

"Fox and the producers of American Idol are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition."

Kris Allen won American Idol. Up next? A debut album.

AT&T also defended itself:

"Last week, countless parties were held in homes, bars, and other public places across America to watch the American Idol finale. In Arkansas, a few local AT&T employees were invited to attend two local watch parties organized by the community. Caught up in the enthusiasm of rooting for their hometown contestant, they brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested.

"Going forward, we will make sure our employees understand our sponsorship celebrates the competition, not individual contestants. That said, it's quite a leap to suggest that a few individuals could have impacted the final results."

In the new issue of Cosmopolitan, Lauren Conrad describes how she finished her last day of shooting for The Hills, and if you're a fan of the series, it should come as no surprise that the emotional LC cried as she said her goodbyes.

But the tears have dried, and she's ready for a fresh start.

"I've always had another season to look forward to, but now life is a little more unplanned," the lovable 23-year-old says. "It's really exciting."

The star, whose last episode of The Hills airs Sunday, says the awkward talk she had with former BFF Heidi Montag only told viewers half the story.

According to Conrad, the producers of the show kept pushing her to meet up with Montag throughout the fifth season, knowing it would be her last.

“I’m trying to move on, but they won’t let me," Lauren Conrad said.

"What they didn’t get is that I didn’t want to fight with her anymore. It’s hard to look at somebody who used to be your best friend and say, ‘We can’t be friends. Too much has happened.’ When someone keeps pushing you into the same position, you get upset.”

Now that her reality TV days are over, the often-glamorous star can look forward to more of what she prefers - a more low-key life with beau Kyle Howard.

"I feel sexiest with him when I'm in sweatpants and no makeup," she says of her boyfriend of about nine months, who stars on the TBS show My Boys.

"They are really good together," pal Lo Bosworth says. "Sometimes it takes somehow who treats you right to show you there's something else out there."

We'll certainly miss her, but look forward to finding out what she gets up too next. Click to enlarge more Lauren Conrad pictures, past and present:
