Okaii... this is what i think.
New Moon is a big deal to me because jasper attacks bella and whatnot. Jasper is my favorite, above Rpattz.
I do, however, like Taylor Lautner, and i think this movie is gonna be extremely interesting...
i dont like that they're changing the scenes, especially if they leave out a couple of my favorites...
I cant wait, but i have to say that i'm feeling a bit disappointed already.
Hmph. I guess we'll just have to wait. :[

obviously they had to change the book to fit the movie - RP could probably just do a voice over, but what fun would that be? all the audience would do is wonder wtf edward's voice was doing coming from offscreen when he's supposed to be gone, but truth be told, the whole apparition thing will probably have a smilar effect...
honestly, i was kinda hoping they'd do a cut to when edward's suffering in south america and rosalie calls to tell him that bella's dead. now THAT would make for an interesting scene, i think.
as for the ultimatum... well,it'll be a change. in the books, bella kinda talks about how renee rags on her about the whole marriage thing, but i kinda don't think they'd put that in since it would probably "take away" from the whole action/love triangle thing.

i am very excited about new moon. i am alittle concerned about the changes. ever since i saw the trailer and saw summit make jacob look like a real wolf-instead of going over the top like the 1st hulk movie with the graphics or cgi-i have more trust in the director or whoever has the final say so. i am disappointed that the proposal is not in the film. i have to admit that is one of the things i was really looking forward to in the movie. but i will TRY to keep an open mind about that part.
also i wished that rpattz was not in the movie so much like in the book. if he wasn't there then it will really give the affect of the heartache that she is going through. i think it will make the audience hurt more for bella. i was hoping since the day i found out they were doing new moon that they would stick with the book on that aspect and leave him out majority of the movie. but this is hollywood people they alway f*** up a good thing. . . oh. . .wait that's right- open mind-stay open

This had better be a very false rumor. I'm well aware that books are books and the movies are based upon the book and therefore, won't be the same; however, they can't change the ultimatum, that sets up the continuation of the story that leads into Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
It's one thing to take some liberty with changing some details or adding details if it makes it better for the fans, but if they change the ultimatum and we don't get the wedding proposal in New Moon, there will be a lot of upset fans.

Omfg they can't take the proposal out!!like most of you have been saying,the rest of the movies won't make since.but yeah the apparation things pretty neat.omg can't wait till it comes out!:)

The ultimatum is what decided both Eclipse and Breaking Dawn - how can they change that??!!?? I knew there would be changes and differences from the books to the movies, but the ultimatum is something too important to change - HELLO?!? So disappointed...

WTF?!?!?!?! They seriously can't change the ultimatum!! It's what makes the last two books interesting! The marriage is what Breaking Dawn is all about!!! Well, that and Bella's transformation. But still! Please don't change the ultimatum.

I can't believe they're changing the marriage ultimatum. That's a really crucial part in the the 2nd book! Well, if they have to change it, they at least better make it a better ultimatum. But it still upsets me :(

Changing the ultimatum is crazy. What are they thinking. That makes the whole series.Some changes are inevitable,but that one is wrong!!!

Okayy fair doos changing some stuff but the ultimatum? It shapes the whole of the start of breaking dawn?! Grrrrr. Appart from that one tiny detail still sounds good :) I'm sure the film will still be good, here's hopiong!! :) bring on new moon.

I'm a big fan of the series and I feel that they would really bring the books "to life" by following the story line the way it was written. Stephanie's writing is great and doesn't need to be enhanced by changing the storyline in the movies. Although I like Edward, I really fell in love with Jacob's character in New Moon. I think that he, like in the book, should be, together with Bella, the two main characters for New Moon. Edward's just going to have to wait his turn to shine in Eclipse.

I so agree with candypants I apsolutely love Rob but hey come on was it soooo painful to watch them portray bella and edward the only reason the movie made it at all was because it was such an amazing book!

when i first heard the news a few weeks ago i was in shock. then when the shock wore off i was angry!! the proposal??!! i keep an open mind when it comes to some changes. adding some more danger for bella?...ok thats cool i guess. throwing in a fight scene with laurent and the wolves..interesting. seeing edward as opposed to just hearing him...im not complaining! but replacing THE PROPOSAL with a different ultimatum?? thats just disgusting!! it makes me sick to think that the alternative is never going to be as romantic or fitting or utterly perfect as the original proposal. changing it changes edwards image. and that is BLASPHEMY!

I agree that some changes have to be made like giving Rob more screen time, but then everyone seems to agree... Why would they change the ultimatum that's ridiculous and it will change too much the books are sooo successful why change for screen play more than necessary? The first firm wasn't all that great but the books are so loved that we all saw it. if they keep with the changes soon they will have no common ground save for the same name. One last note was anyone else surprised when the jacob wolf actually looked like a WOLF? I was thinking werewolf not scary but not so dog like....

I love the new changes!
There were a few scenes in the twilight series that really bothered me. The Twilight Series is a first person story, from Bella's point of view. Along with Bella, I fell deeply in love with Edward. I was greatly disappointed in Edward's absence in New Moon. I too felt lost without Edward in the book and for that reason, it was my least favourite in the series. I also couldn't understand why someone as observant as Bella couldn't recognize the difference between love for a devoted friend and love for her soul mate; but that's a different book. Edward telling Bella she would change her once they were married, was stupid. No one you love should ever give you an ultimatum. It's not in Edwards character to dole out ultimatums to suit his desires. I think Stephanie really dropped the ball on that one. One more thing, a first person book read by Bella should continue being read by Bella. The first time I read 'Jacob's book' I was distracted. I had to rem

it's absurd to change the ultimatum!!!like i love that part....they just seriously cant do this!first of all we dont get to see edward much and then they change the marrying part...hope they do something about it

Seeing more of Rpatz is not that bad and showing Laurent being shred to pieces doesn't bother me but changing the ultimatum bothers me a little. Asking her to marry him first just makes since. He is old school and if they change that part of the book then it won't seem right. I hope they just put it a little different and he still says they have to be married before he changes her.

I'd rather they stay as close to the book as possible, but maybe the lack of marriage proposal in New Moon won't be too bad. Maybe they will have Edward insists that Bella finish high school or go to college before she changes; they might even leave out the part about him changing her. They will obviously have to include the marriage proposal part at some point in the movie series, so if they wait until Eclipse to do it, I'm fine with that. Maybe there will be another ultimatum, and they will have marriage be Edward's requirement for sex, or for him to be the one to change her. I'm not going to freak out until I know for sure.

I don't mind the first two changes. They are so small that it wont make a difference and if so just make the movie more interesting. The last change though with no marriage proposal is a huge disappointment. I was reading somewhere that because bella and edward never said I love you to each other in the first movie that it would seem to soon for edward to propose. I think thats bull. With such an important scene it will be a major disappointment to change it. I honestly feel that summit needs to get a new script writer. Melissa is screwing up big time. Listen to what all the fans have been saying since day one... "STICK TO THE BOOK" The first film was horrible. yes it had some cool scenes but the overall story telling was disappointing. I hope that the next film will be longer and spend more time on developing the characters/story line.

Getting rid of the marriage ultimatum is totally going to ruin the rest of the series! The entire 4th book is based upon Edward and Bella getting married! The whole plot would end up being changed therefore RUINING THE MOVIE!!
