Keith Olbermann Calls Out Carrie Prejean
Keith Olbermann, in the video below, addressing Carrie Prejean:
Your grandfather did not fight to protect your right to answer a question during a network television soft porn special without consequences or fallout... He fought to protect you from having the government stop us from speaking our minds.
We know you despise Olbermann, Conservatives. And it's hard for even the most left-wing nut to defend his maniacal rants sometimes.
But we beseech readers - in the interest of open, fair debate - to watch and listen to the MSNBC host's take on Prejean below. He doesn't mention gay marriage once, instead focusing on the illogical argument that Carrie was somehow simply exercising her right to free speech.
Keith Olbermann on Carrie Prejean
As referenced in the quote above, Olbermann argues:
- The First Amendment has nothing to do with getting flak for speaking one's mind; it simply protects a citizen from being imprisoned for that act.
- Moreover, Carrie wasn't punished for her answer, as she claims. She's received national acclaim and didn't even lose her crown, despite blatantly violating her contract!
All of Prejean's supporters say it's unfair to attack someone for exercising her freedom of speech. But what if she said she believes all African-Americans should be slaves? Would critics be allowed to pounce on her then? It's just her opinion, right?
Also, let's not forget: Prejean said her latest round of topless photos were due to a "windy day." We mean... come on!!!

Carrie Prejean is the that cause her misery, her problem is, that she paints herself as a evangelical christian, and yet she does the very opposite, she lied on her Miss USA application, and even if she wasn't fired for that, she should have been, because the sweet christian, is not all she portrays her self be, what saddens me the most, is how some of these so call Christians can and be against anyone having basic human rights, like marrying the person they choose to spend their life with. Gay people deserves the same rights and freedoms that all American enjoy. I am married woman with three wonderful children and have loved every moment of it, so why shouldn't everyone have the right to that type of happiness, and I am not Gay,and I believe in equalily for all people.

Obermann rocks.....this girl is a media whoring BIMBO! End of argument. How about we focus on the economy...the unemployment rate, health care and the fact that the majority of our children are hungry.

An addition to to the above post I meant obviously not everyone agrees that only tradional marraige should exist. There is only conflict that same sex couples believe they should also have the same privileges, not about taking them away from straight couples.

Also gender is not the same as sex. So 'gender based' doesn't mean anything since gender can be transgressed, while typically there is only two types of sexes, man and woman. If you're saying that traditional marraige is between a man and a woman then that's correct. But obviously not everyone agrees that just because something is traditional that it is right. Your statement about passing down genes relates to the previous post about power because men wouldn't want their lineage broken, this relates to having control and power over not only women, but their gene pool and later to protect their name and family business. If you can't see that relates to control then that is naive. like another post says about critical thinking...as for talk of sexy ass sheep and cows...ok then...

you need to get a clue- marraige wasn't even discussed in the 'primitive world' in that post. Its a fairly modern phenomenon ie stemming from religion. It didn't even exist in caveman days

Kit, are you extremely naive if you think marriage was created in order to establish ownership over women. In a primative world there's no need to exert "ownership." If a caveman wanted a women he would simply take her then drop her, leaving her to deal with the consequences of their copulation. In the primitive world where the man is the hunter/gatherer, the BURDEN of marriage necessitated voluntarily adopted more mouths to feed when living was hard. In primitive society sex is cheap... basically free. Marriage requires a massive injection of resources. You can see it to this day in traditional societies where young men can't "afford" to get married and where obtaining a reputable wife entails a good deal of material wealth or support from an extended clan.
Marriage is not about sex. It is not about love. Marriage has always been a tool to formalize and facilitate the family unit. In essence a tool to codify long-term relationships between parents to help raise children...

What is sad is that #1, homosexuals are called "gay". There is nothing gay about people who are psychologically ill. It is a symptom of a deep and serious issue related to self-loathing and negative self-talk that tells one they are not worthy of aving a "normal" life. #2, it is ridiculous that there is even anything called "gay righs". Really! does that sound like something sane people would make a big stink over? #3, it is truly sad, not gay, that society has sank to such a low that this topic even makes the news - and worse yet that anyone who is normal is persecuted.
And to address a comment above, yes, God created men and women to populate the world and to nurture and train their families. He created Adam and Eve - not Steve.
Think about it, if "gay" people did not already know deep down inside that being homosexual is wrong, they would not be so offensively defensive and yell for their rights from the tallest tree and rooftop to anybody and everybody. It's like when kids
