As soon as the alleged Rihanna nude photo scandal broke on the Internet late Friday afternoon, speculation began running rampant over the pictures’ origin.

One unsubstantiated but popular theory? Chris Brown leaked them.

The messages “I love you” and “I miss you” appear scrawled on the mirror in one of the alleged Rihanna pics, which could have been written to Chris Brown.

Her disgraced ex-boyfriend could be looking for revenge, some believe, as he stands accused of criminal threats and assault while she’s moving on with life.

So the story goes. Perez Hilton even claimed the R&B star “must be responsible” for distributing the raunchy photos. But is there any truth to this at all?

None, says Chris Brown’s rep, who calls the speculation over his involvement in the naked photo leak patently absurd, incorrect and unfair.

“This is both a false and defamatory statement. Chris has not released or ‘leaked’ any photos of Rihanna (or anyone else for that matter),” his rep said.

On Friday, her label Def Jam sent cease and desist letters to outlets who published the photos, claiming that the images violate “the Artist’s rights.”

The record company neither confirmed nor denied if it’s actually Rihanna nude. In our opinion, the pictures are probably her, although there is still no conclusive proof that they are, or of where they came from. It’s sort of bizarre.
