Ida Ljungqvist Named Playmate of the Year
Ida Ljungqvist was Playboy's Playmate of the Month for March 2008.
That was a fine career milestone in and of itself. But now it is being reported that she has won the honor of Hugh Hefner's magazine's 2009 Playmate of the Year, making history as the magazine's 50th POTY and the first African POTY.
Ljungqvist was born in Tanzania to a Swedish father and a Tanzanian mother. She was discovered by 2007 POTY Sara Jean Underwood at a clothing boutique.
Ida succeeds Jayde Nicole, a.k.a. Brody Jenner's girlfriend, as Playmate of the Year. But the achievement does not come without scandal for Ljungqvist.
Consider the following baggage:
- A nasty divorce with her husband making news after he recently filed papers. Ida Ljungqvist & Joshua R. Lang are still legally married, and rumored to be in a bitter a custody battle over their pet chihuahua Bonnie (seriously).
- Court documents rumored to show that Ida Ljungqvist was involved in "sexual acts for money" before becoming a Playboy playmate.
- She has been known to wear religious symbols around their neck while wearing ... well, you get the idea.

Just wanted to say Ida still has fans out here. Love everything about her. Regarding the three scandals: Are these scandals? Divorce might have been a scandal a hundred years ago but today? Custody battles aren't scandals. Sex for money "before becoming a Playmate". Who cares, its what she is doing now that counts. She's moved onward and upward, isn't that what we ALL want to do? I'm not sure which religious symbols people are talking about. To be honest I wasn't looking at the jewelry (she has such an awesome body who would be checking out the jewelry). I just reviewed several of her pictorials and didn't see any. Apparently it happened at least once (oooh once!), but even so who cares? I'm fine with it. If its okay for her to pose nude without them then its okay to pose with them. Being nude doesn't make her less religious. To me its actually a plus if she wore a religious symbol.

Innocent until proven guilty? Hmmm lets recap.
Ida posts pictures of her and Doug on her myspace page while she was still married. Doug thinks he's above the law when infact he's a real pus*y. Doug brags to everyone here in Ohio how he is moving in with Ida Ljungqvist and we all know he is funding her money operation. Doug likes to posts comment like he did above to "protect" his charm but doesnt realize the joke is on him. Maybe Doug and Ida should come out and tell everyone the truth whats up and really going on and what really went on! Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock!

I went to school with Doug Kantner. The guy dating Ida Ljungqvist. We all know Ida had an affair on her husband with Doug who is also married with 2 small children. He is the biggest a-hole in the world. I hope he and Ida realize they are two very sick induviduals, who destroyed so much.

I am so over haters. Why is everyone so anxious to perscute Ida? It is so easy to start a smear campaign against anyone via the internet, and it is OBVIOUS that this is the work of a jilted ex husband and possibly some of the jilted Playmates who were up for the title. What has happened to our country? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Leave this beauty alone and let her enjoy this special time. Her ex husband is using her PMOY win to gain fame for himself...I mean the leaked court documents about the custody of the dog based on her Playmate fame..now he is probably having a feild day with her Playmate of the Years status..posting pictures of them and planting nasty accusations? And shame on you all for being so quick to beleive it.

The post indicated that she was the first African POTY not the first African-American POTY, there is a difference. Also, she's part Swedish. As such, she can also be considered African-European, which would also be considered a first.
