Last night, many in Hollywood attended the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
According a press release, the exhibition "explores the reciprocal relationship between high fashion and evolving ideals of beauty, focusing on iconic fashion models in the latter half of the 20th century and their roles in projecting, and sometimes inspiring, the fashion of their respective eras."
Celebrities in attendance were encouraged to play up their wardrobe for the occasion... and they did not disappoint!
Two of the stars that took the costume aspect of the gala most seriously were Madonna and Rihanna. This pair has a lot more in common than one-word, rhyming names. Compare their unusual outfits below:
