In the tease for next week's show, she said that only one other person knew about the book, which suggests it was her ex-husband. I think that the people at Bravo, and/or the show's production company, did the standard background checks, found out, and had a hand in making absolutely sure the rest of the 'housewives' found out about it, knowing what it would mean for the ratings. (Even I know this, and I work for PBS!)
Regardless of what she did or did not do, I think the producers found gold in her background and decided to exploit it for ratings. I think they sandbagged her.
