Bristol Palin: Never at War with Levi Johnston

We wanna leave Bristol Palin alone. We really do.

Each time we write about the new mother, a few readers take our staff to task for featuring stories on this poor, innocent youth that, apparently, never understood the consequences of unprotected sex until she got pregnant.

But we aren't the ones that put Bristol on the cover of People!

If you have a problem with celebrity gossip blogs taking digs at the young mom and her baby daddy, please direct your complaints to a certain attention-starved former Vice Presidential candidate in Wasilla, Alaska.

That being said, the latest excerpt from People's cover story on Bristol focuses on her relationship with Levi Johnston; or, specifically, his relationship with son Tripp.

"I know Levi will be a part of Tripp's life," Bristol says in the latest issue of the magazine. "I know he loves him."

While it may seem as though Palin and her ex-lover get along worse than Yankee and Red Sox fans - following a round of TV interviews in which Levi criticized the Palin family for trying to restrict them from time with Tripp - Bristol says things were never that bad.

"I don't think we were ever at war at all," she said.

Added Todd Palin: "I think it's all going to be fine. Tripp needs to share time with Levi's family. When Levi came to pick him up the other day, Tripp was smiling. It's a special time for a baby and his dad."

Just like giving interviews to various tabloids is a special time for a father and his daughter, right Todd?
