It is so on.
While Adam Lambert and his American Idol rival Kris Allen might be close pals, the same can't be said for this season's runner-up and Clay Aiken.
Days after Aiken bashed Lambert's rendition of "Ring of Fire" (and then quasi-apologized for his remarks), the flamboyant finalist has fired back.
"I don't know Clay," Adam told Access Hollywood this week. "I'm glad he's getting headlines now though, because he wasn't before."
Snaps. Yo.
Lambert wasn't done. He added:
"If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him."

Forbes Magazine listed Mr. Aiken as #6 in The Year's Top Earning Idol Contestants. He made $2.2 million in 2008. This puts him ahead of every male contestant on the list. That includes Daughtry ($2 mil.), Cook ($2 mil.), Archuleta ($1.3 mil) and in 10th place, Taylor Hicks (300,000). Check for yourself. Why would Adam Lambert think that Clay Aiken needs to ride on his coat-tail??
If Clay Aiken wants to post his opinion on his personal blog for fanclub membership, so be it. He didn't take it public. He was answering a fan question. Haters wanted to get a feud started and it worked. Adam made his comments publically. How is this classy? Seems a bit arrogant to me. Aiken doesn't have to be your cup of tea, but that doesn't mean that he has no career. Non-fans just would not know about all he does. (as with any celeb who you don't follow)

LOL Clay Aiken has his own coattails he does NOT need or want dear Adam's.

Lambert is a little high on his own hype. In a week or 2 he'll be lucky to get a headline. If he was smart he wouldn't have shot back after Clay apologized. He is the one that looks bad.

CLM, great response. Adam is proving how totally classless he is.

When Lambert has sold 6 million albums, written a New York Times best selling book, successfully toured 9 times, started a foundation for children with disabilities, been a Unicef
Ambassador, produced a TV special, starred on Broadway in a Tony award winning play, appeared on Emmy award winning TV shows, maybe then he can talk about his coat tails. As yet, I don't see any coat tails to speak of. Clay Aiken has some coat tails!!!

Clay is all class...Adam not so much.

As a fan of Adam's I'm really disappointed in him. I thought he was a nice humble guy with manners but he is a classless boor if this is true. He should accept the apology and let it go but his EGO got in the way and he lashed out.

Well, Adam, you just lost a fan. I thought you were a classy guy, but then you got fukk of yourself.
If you have any smarts you will close your mouth and stop saying such egotistical things!!

I give Clay credit for waiting until after the competition was over to answer numerous fan questions at his fanclub so as not to influence them against Adam. I'm sure he wasn't expecting his thumbs down on Adam's dreadful RING OF FIRE performance to be carried far & wide. You can thank his creepy stalker for that who is bragging that he sent the blog to Gawker. I'm glad Clay apologized for his misguided words & that he included quite a few compliments to Adam in his apology. Adam, if he had any class, would have accepted the apology like a man & let it go. Instead, he chose to bash Clay's career & character, which Clay NEVER did to him. If Adam had made a joke about one of Clay's performances in return, that would have been fine. But he seems to think that he, who has achieved NOTHING in the music industry so far, is above both Clay & Gene Simmons, who have yrs of CD sales, tour revenue & awards to their credit. Really tacky, Adam. Don't believe your hype.
