Last night, Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA.
While the hopeful motivational speaker clearly earned the crown on her own merit, it didn't hurt when Carrie Prejean (Miss California) lost the support of one judge following her response to his question in the interview round.
Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton asked Prejean for her opinion on the legalization of gay marriage.
After stumbling through an answer that included how great it is for America to give its citizens the choice of same-sex unions versus those involving the opposite sex, Prejean said she was raised to believe marriage is only between a man and a woman.
Our staff is as pro-gay marriage as we are anti-Perez Hilton, so we're equally disappointed by Miss California's reply.
How do you feel about it? Leave a comment. Let us know!

Wow!!
Who says that beauty pageants are only JUST about pretty faces and fabulous figures scantily clad!?
Apparently you can win or lose just because of your politics!
Should that really be a criterion in contests thar really are beauty pageants?

everyone is entitled to their opinions. no one should be punished or mocked for them, everyone forgets freedom is a two-way street. people have the right to support gay-marraige just like they have the right to not support it. get over it or move to canada

I think that she's entitled to her own opinion but she certainly could have worded it in a better way.
and come on-this is mostly to the person who wrote above me: let's be mature about this. you don't have to write things like that.

Maybe they could have saved us all a lot of trouble if the Pageant had this rule.
"Only Pro Gay Marriage Contestant May Apply!"
Obvioulsy this was a set up and there was only one right answer.
It should have been asked as a closed ended question.
Are you for or against gay marriage?
The Pageant is a joke and should be scrabbed!

Unfortunately, she didn't answer the question, even if she agreed or disagreed with the idea of gay marriage.
Unfortunately, most of the people writing these comments didn't understand the question. The question was about state rights and whether the states have rights to make their own laws. The gay part of the question was just a side thing.

screw the bigoted hatemonger Hilton and all the two-faced hypocrites who would cause this beautiful woman to lose ON THE BASIS OF HER PERSONAL BELIEFS. That is bigotry, period. Leftists are very intolerant and hateful people.
