First of all, what makes Lamarche qualified to speak if celebrities can't - Lamarche sounds an air of arrogance (isn't that against the basic principles of loving your neighbor in hte bible?).
Second, her interpretation is flawed and not the traditional understanding of scripture scholars for the last two centuries.
The argument for pro-(man & woman only) marriage is simple:
1 - It is Divine Law (Easy - go to Genesis)...plus, there is no where in the bible that indicates God condones same sex acts - Romans even makes an inference to same sex acts being against God's Will.
2 - Natural Law - same sex marriage just doesn't make sense in the order of TRUE LOVE (what we call total self-giving love that happens through children). God is all about order and that includes LOVE. Same sex acts are simply "disordered" love acts as are masturbation, bestiality, and pedophilia (each in varying degrees to each other). Come on, wake up and smell the coffee - why would God design ma

None of this is really on point. The Bible is the Word of God--every bit of it. So, when one reads it, one attempts to harmonize it, or exegetically address all parts.
Our friend the pastor above correctly notes that Christ spent time with and loved the sinners and outcasts. As He says in Mark 2:17, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Christ did not spend time with these people to validate their sinful lifestyles--Christ condemned sin; He loved them in spite of their lifestyles and worked to heal them and put them on a new path.
As He said in Luke 15:3-7, "3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me;

Your entire point, "tony AhMU" and others that take this view, is that gays "pick and choose" to be gay. Why do you think gay people would choose that sexual preference? Did you ever choose to be straight? Given all the discrimination and obstacles against homosexuals, why on earth would anyone ever choose to be that way?
God created us in His image. There's no caveat to this that makes an exception for gay individuals. They are who they are. There is no choice involved.
Do you honestly believe God wants you to run through the Bible, line by line, determining on your own which rules to follow, as opposed to simply acting in a, overall loving, compassionate way toward those around you?

Ok, "tony AhMu," but this begs the question: Why would you choose to follow a verse in the bible that discriminates against your fellow man? Can't help but noticing that you choose NOT to follow rules that might limit your diet or your wardrobe... yet DO follow passages that actively affect others in a negative way.
Personally, I'd prefer to follow the overall lesson of God, the one that says to "love thy neighbor as thyself," than to pick and choose lines from the Bible, especially when they create so much happiness for my fellow man.

Of course we pick and choose. Just like you, NO ONE can follow EVERY rule. Prejean is correct...biblically correct. Just like gays pick and choose NOT to follow THAT rule. Everyone thinks that if if you obey one thing in the bible you're a hypocrite if you don't follow EVERY little detail of the bible. Get real. We all determine what is important to us and act on it.
