Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her husband, music producer Chris Ivery, are going to be starting a family together, her rep, Jennifer Allen, confirms.
"It's great news," says Allen. "They're ecstatic."
The actress, 39, and Chris Ivery, 41, were married by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a low-key ceremony on her birthday in November 2007.
They got engaged on her birthday exactly a year earlier in 2006.
The couple, both natives of the Boston area, met in a Los Angeles grocery store in 2003 and began dating six months later. The rest is history.
Ellen Pompeo, who's recently been spotted shopping for baby gear around L.A., is not the only Grey's Anatomy doctor having a baby in real life.
Chyler Leigh, who plays Pompeo's half-sister on the hospital drama, and her husband, Nathan West, are expecting her third child, a girl, in May.

Too bad....Chris passes himself off as a music guy but has never recorded a song to any credit. He takes Ellen to music related functions in hopes someone will listen to a cd of recorded works by another producer, he is desperatley looking for sometype of title so as to not look like the free loading husband...the guy is a joke....I met him at a friends Interscope function and no one cared about him, they only cared about taking pictures with his wife. The guy is a lowlife felon, he should stay away from stating he's a music guy.

He met Ellen long before she hit the jackpot. He is not a freeloader, but a man who loves Ellen for who she is. Apparently she herself is very aware of that, too.

Chris does not pass himself off as a music guy, he does have a successful career. They are a beautiful couple who truly love each other and I guess that some folks out there find that hard to swallow.
