Carrie nPrejean is one of the bravest and most heroic women i've seen in a very long time! She stood up for her beliefs and didn't back down. She opposes the evils of gay marriage and Sacrificed probably what she dreamed of her whole life to show this idiotic country of ours that liberal ideals and adgendas will not be the only voice in this nation! Thank you Carrie, for giving a voice to the voiceless and a defense of marriage, the way it should be.

Marriage is NOT a religious institution for many people. The great thing about this country is how it allows for so many different beliefs. If you want to be free to follow the bible (and you better not be having sex before marriage, if you are!), then more power to you. But are people really taking the stance that Christianity is the only acceptable - heck, the only lawful! - way to get married? That's incredibly sad, if so.

Exactly! This is what religious people don't seem to understand, about gay marriage or just marriage in general: LOTS of people just have civil ceremonies in a courthouse. That's all gay couples are looking for. If you are against these unions because of what the bible says, that's fine. But how can you inject your religious faith on people who don't believe the same things? Or, more importantly, how is it the government's job to do so?

But how does the bible apply to marriage? It's fine for Christianity and churches to not acknowledge gay marriages or perform them, if that's what they believe. But can atheists then not get married? What about Jewish people? Muslims? Churches are allowed to marry whoever they want to - but what does the bible have to do with two individuals that wish to get married in a civil ceremony?

Kudos to Carrie! How wonderful for someone to stand up for their beliefs whether it cost them something or not. She is right...she was being tested...doesn't matter the venue. And she will be blessed for it somewhere down the line. God specifically lays out marriage in the Bible as being between a man and a woman and condemns homosexuality. Just because the world embraces something doesn't mean it is right.
