Miss California needs to get off her high horse. Her answer did not cost her the crown. She was already trailing Miss North Carolina in the swim suit and evening gown scores. Miss North Carolina gave an excellent answer to her question too. Miss California would have been second to her even if she gave a decent answer because Miss North Carolina was near perfect all around. Also, looking at them both side by side, Miss North Carolina has a softer look than Miss California.

He looks like an idiot in his video trying to talk about our forefathers when he doesn't know squat about anything but being trying to be a diva which is a disgrace. He claims she got booed, but all I heard were cheers when she answered. I guess the only boo he heard was his lover NOT HUSBAND HAHAHAHA, sitting behind him.

Why the hell should she explain her belief to you ar to anyone else? It is disgusting that you would judge her for her honest beliefs.

Proposition 8 came through. That was how California feels about gay marriage. She is Miss California.
But that's okay, be a bigot.

Its an opinion. How is it fair for gays to force their views on others and then attack someone who expresses her personal views. I think she answered the question beautifully. I love Miss CA

Boy, if your view differs from the Gay agenda you get thrown under the bus, and called every name in the book. Real tolerent. Remember he asked "what do you think?"

o.k., WHY do we have polical gay judges at a "MISS" U.S.A
pageant ? just wondering how they can be beneficial in judging the beauty and grace of our nations finest females !
so let me get this right, a contestant MUST be "for" what ever the judge is "for" or she gets the boot ? what a world !!!

The question should have never been asked. Perez Hilton set her up to further the gay agenda. AS USUAL. And then she's critized not only by Hilton, but by the director of the pageant?! She was asked her opinion. She answered articulately and honestly. Neither politics or religion was mentioned in her answer. Mr. Lewis should be removed as pageant director.

I have no problem with gay marriage, but I think it is quite possibly the most ironic thing ever that people who have felt they don't have a voice for their own beliefs are acting like it is a horrible thing for someone else to express theirs. Kudos to Ms. California for speaking from her heart, right or wrong. I think the word would be a much better place if all people spoke from their heart. And as for the comment by the co-executive director of Miss Cal/USA - since when did a beauty pageant have anything to do with politics? Since when do we really put so much weight on the comments of a BEAUTY PAGEANT contestant that it makes or breaks our political system?

Executive Director Lewis is reading into what she said. She said nothing about rights...she only said she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman. Obama himself has said the same thing...and that he supports civil unions. This is the approach taken in California. ALL the same rights, privelages and responsibilities are granted to same sex civil unions. Mr. Lewis is either placating the very powerful gay lobby...or has his own agenda/feelings to push.
