Frankly speaking, I don’t think much of what she said on the second half is too appalling. It is the first part that I have problem with. “We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and my family I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman.” She should know better being Miss California representing the state that have ripped away the so called “ability to choose” with prop 8. Plus, she might be living in some other land because last I checked the land that I am in is divided into states and not all of them let people “choose”. Also, not the whole country is sharing the same view as her as she generalizes everyone with “my country”. What is that supposed to mea?! That this is not the country of those who share different views other than hers?
Ok. It seems to me that Mr. Hilton is also standing up to what he believed just like Miss Prejean did. Unfortunately the judges

With judges like Perez Hilton, the reputation of the Miss USA beauty pageant has been reduced to a farce. Carrie Prejean had every right to answer the way she did. The liberal left just doesn't like it because she stated her opposing views on live TV that reached an audience of millions. Perhaps they fear that she may persuade the masses. They want to stifle any opinion that conflicts with their own.
Also, too many folks have been hammering her because of her spotty articulation. How would you like it if cameras were on you and judges staring in your face and the world is hanging on your every word? You'd be nervous as hell. She was extremely gracious under all that pressure.

He asked the question and she answered.....let's not forget 86% of calif. is against gay marriage. he has the stipidity to say she lost because she was politicly incorrect. Does he really think she is some sort of powerful, eloquent politician that is going to represent the gay community. Gays should tone down their speech, nobody is going to take this small minority seriously when they act like brats! I guess the louder they scream the more they think they will get what they want. Maybe in San Francisco with twosome Newsome, who should just come out of the closet, but not in the majority of California. All I have to say is the gays should thank their lucky stars they don't live in Iraq, Iran, Cuba, Pakistan, or Columbia, because there males would have no testicles and women no clitoris.

Why was this question even asked in the first place. Do her beliefs in this case have anything to do with character or morals as is usually based in a defining pagent question. And then after giving her answer and explaining in a very respectful way, she is shunned by the pagent. Rediculous!! I have no problem with gay marriage at all. If it doesn't affect me or my family personally then what right do I have to complain. What I do have a problem with is somebody trying to tell me what I believe or should feel as they were doing in carrie's case here. After all isn't that the fight all homosexuals are faceing now.......people trying to tell them its not right to be gay. No everyone has to believe the same as long as there is tolerance and understanding in the world

How ignorant can the 'political correct be' not to distinguish the self serving attitude the gay movement is pushing that every one should accept their anomaly in the name of 'freedom'.
Freedom is not the right to choose what is wrong but the right to chose what is right!... and that freedom we in America are losing to these hate groups of the so called 'loving gays', pro-abortion intellectuals and the like whom find justification for their agenda in a self centered attitude that is many times pathological to say the least and narcissistic in nature.

Many people know the debate on "civil union" and "marriage". Not everyone. Her response did not indicate she knew much about the topic. A winning answer is not necessarily politically correct... but it is educated and well-spoken. She did a bad job. Not to mention that America stands for freedom and not even Christians get to push anyone around. Yes, I am a Christian.

Ironic that she's being criticized for having a view that a majority of California voters had in passing prop 8, that marriage should be between a man and a woman. For Mr. Lewis - homosexual judges with an gay agenda have no place in the Miss USA pageant. For Hilton Hater - No reasonable explanation? She was asked her views, not asked to write a thesis. She did say it was the way she was raised; guess that's unsatisfactory. Seems that no explanation would be satisfactory for you.

I saw this on Fox News last night. I just want to state that you should never try to force a man or woman to accept your lifestyle. They aske her a question and answered how she wanted to answer it. She coming South Carolina would expect her from to have a beliefs such as this. I am a Jamaican living in Jamaica. Anybobody know about Jamaica will know which side of the fence Jamaicans support but yet still there are some that live here that are on the other side but yet they can't behave like that in public or force their lifestyle on anyone here due to the fact, kids cant grow up seeing

In the future I would like to challenge pageant directors, and others involved, to consider the qualifications, motives and personal agendas of judges before putting them in a position that could lead them to the demise of a clear crown winner. Together, lets applaud a more dignified and wholesome run event which reflects the true beauty of our great nation.

I want to start by saying that I support the gay community and I think that many wonderful people are in that community and if people who are gay wish to marry I think they have the right to do that. With this being said I do feel that Perez Hilton is one very atrocious being. He is very much a bully and will stop at nothing to destroy someone's life if they disagree with him.He says whatever he wants about whomever he wants.He has called a fifteen year old Miley Cyrus a whore,he has called Sarah Palin a pig in lipstick and all of that is okay with him.He absolutely destroyed the life of one of his readers when she barked back at him for his abusive demeanor towards her!The public needs to stand up to Perez Hilton! I support gay rights and the underdog but Perez Hilton is the wrong person to represent that cause! Ya know, this is bigger than this contest. Remember when the gays just wanted a civil union? They wanted the legal benefits of living together as life partners just as married hetero couples enjoy. They got that and now they want to be legally married. And it just keeps going. We have the lesbian woman who had a sex change because she had never felt like a female and then decided she wanted to have a baby but still be considered a man. So the Discovery Channel filmed a 'Pregnant Man' documentary with a sequel. Give them marriage and it won't be enough. They have sued the largest manufacturer of Christian bibles for printing 'hate speech due to passages regarding sodomy. Talk about a tiny, vicious minority. You are dealing with a very narcissistic group of individuals who make their reasonable counterparts look bad. Just wait until the ramifications of divorce settlement start affecting those in states where gay marriage is legal. What will they want then?
