American Idol Makes History

Last night's installment of American Idol made show history.

Did fans shockingly send favorite Adam Lambert home? Was a contestant saved from elimination? Did Paula Abdul express her undying love for Simon Cowell?

Read on. Find out.

For the first time ever, the judges used their special save, following the announcement that Matt Giraud had received the lowest number of viewer votes. The soulful singer is now safe for at least another week.

However, Simon also told the Michigan native that he couldn't imagine him winning it all (causing us to wonder why the judges bothered to save him), while also reminding all contestants: "Two people are going home next week now. And, next week is disco week."

Cue the scary music!

Also featured on this week's results show: Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Hudson performed. Each received a standing ovation.
