After appearing yesterday on The Late Show David Letterman, U2 was honored with the temporary renaming of a portion of W. 53rd Street in New York City.
On the day the band released its twelfth studio album, No Line on the Horizon, NYC residents could drive down U2 Way. Group members (from left) Adam Clayton, Bono, The Edge and Larry Mullen, Jr. proudly display the street signs below:
Did U2 deserve this recognition? Probably. The band has contributed an enormous amount to music and the world in general, via Bono's charity work.
But it got us to wondering: what other celebrities deserve to have a street named after them?
A spurned contestant from The Bachelor? A singer with no self-constraint, common sense or morality? A star of The Hills? You tell us!
Who should have a street named after him/her next?
