Well to be honest Jason seemed flakey from the start. Especially when he obviously did not understand what Jillian meant by being best friends with the person you spend the rest of your life with.
Although, bravo to ABC for delivering one of the most shocking, and laughable things I've seen.
Yes, I feel horribly bad for Melissa.
Yes, if thats REALLY how he feels, then he was right to call it off.
But come on, really? Was that necessary for it to be on TV?
Granted it did hold my attention, and is still holding my attention. ABC is not filled with complete idiots.
Its just disappointing to see such a degrading display emotions...and script writing.

All I can say is that I never watched this stupid show before and I will never watch it again. We need to see if we can start a nation-wide boycott of the Bachelor. I can't believe they would screw with the fans that way. I have absolutely no respect for Jason and even less for Molly. What a freaking slut!!! I love Melissa and I wish her the best. It is terrible that she got caught up in all this crap.

This was TOTALLY staged. I have read that Jason CONTRACTED with ABC to pick Melissa and break her heart for viewer RATINGS! How PATHETIC that ABC would stoop so low and be so unethical for ratings and for DRAMA! ABC did this so that they could have a "historic" ending. It is completely immoral and disgusting to put on a PRETEND show with PRETEND emotions for ratings. It is completely and utterly unmanly and dishonorable for Jason to agree to do this to a wonderful, beautiful woman especially on national television. Melissa did NOT deserve this from anyone and I hate that Jason put on false pretenses and pretending to be an amazing sweet man. He is disgusting. I can't even watch the show or look at his face. Like most people here, I was very surprised and then disgusted by the ending. But I now just feel foolish for thinking that I actually believed that anything I was watching represented reality. Obviously, Jason wants to be an actor, and has been able to rationalize what he did and how he did it with a lot of help and encouragement by the show's "counselors". He's a simple guy, too simple obviously, without a working moral compass of his own. It would be interesting to hear from his ex-wife, no?
I'm sure that Melissa will be asked to be a Bachelorette, and hope that she shows the intelligence she showed at the end by refusing, regardless of the amount of money they offer. I would think that if she waited, better offers would come around.

I echo the same sentiments as 99% of the comments thus far. I absolutely LOVED Jason throughout the season, but what he did was totally unjustified. I feel so bad for Melissa! But she's better off without him anyways.

i cant belive this show, i have been a fan every season and this is the last time i watch this, i cant belive the way he acted to melissa and not giving her enough respect to do it ,other then on national tv.. im sorry but if he could do it to melissa he will probally do it to molly too,when things get difficult or change for them.i think its sad that molly acts so desperate .i think she should have enough respect for melissa to take it else were and not on tv where she will have to see it.it makes me sick to even wonder how melissa feels, she is one absoultley beautiful girl and u know what jason doesnt even deserve her...i hope jason relize he is a bastered and he deserves all the bashing that people are going to give him,he did it to his self.....

3 hours tonight to be disgusted. Jason broke the hearts of many tonight with his behavior. Shame on him to hurt Melissa on national TV. I thought better on him in the beginning and now feel sorry for Tye. Jason needs 5 years without dating in order to grow up. There are alot of people that don't realize this is reality (sic) TV and is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes, ask yourself were you entertained? did the show allow you to take your mind off of your day to day lives? if the answer to either of these is YES then ABC was successful.
By the way, although I only know him from the TV shows and not in real life Jason appears to me like a good guy that had to make a very hard decision and in the 6 weeks that Jason and Melissa had to discuss their relationship without camera crews in their faces perhaps some real reality set in and things just weren't quite up to snuff. Therefore he changed his mind and went with Molly his choice c'est la vie.

I saw it all on the sneak peak and was hoping it wasn't true - but yes the SNAKE Jason stold sweet Melissa's heart and then was on the down low with Molly!! Just proves that this bachelor season was just a ABC ratings ploy that we all feel into.
Melissa you derserve someone who will respect you- your parents had their parents radar on and they were just looking out for their precious daughter!! Good things come to those who wait and for you scumbags Jason and Molly you both deserve each other as you're both fake and playing it for all you can get--POOR LITTLE TYE!!
