Ever-troubled singer Amy Winehouse was greeted by police at her home today and charged with allegedly assaulting a fan during an incident last year.
Wino allegedly smacked around a fan who had the audacity to ask her for a picture. This person should really know better than to engage a crackhead.
Amy, who had just returned from a sun-kissed St. Lucia vacation, was set free and has been ordered to appear in court later this month (March 17).
A spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police told the press in a statement, "[Amy Winehouse] has been charged. She will appear on bail at City of Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday 17th March charged with common assault."
If Amy Winehouse is having run-ins with the cops, it must be Friday.
Per their regulations, the police will not name the person whom Winehouse is alleged to have assaulted, though the spokesman confirms, "It is connection with an incident taking place is Berkeley Square on the 26th September 2008."
