Over the course of American Idol's eighth season, Adam Lambert has been referred to as "theatrical" more times than we can count.

We knew that the newly-named finalist had starred in a production of Wicked, but weren't entirely clear on where this description originated from... until we discovered the photos below.

These aren't on par with previously scandalous pictures of Idol contestants - Antonella Barba, anyone?!? - but they're at least good for a laugh or two.

In the first image below, for example, Lambert looks ready for Shrek week on the show...
