Melissa always came off as rather immature. The chemistry between Melissa and Jason disappeared after the cameras stopped running. I agree with Jason, end it now and not months later when so much would have been invested in a relationship that includes a small child. Jason might look like a bastard now, but it was for the best.

Lets face it, the whole show is a farce! Sure jason looks like Mr Wonderful while the cameras are rolling and your going on exotic dates, helicopter rides and drinking champagne all day.
But he did Melissa a favor, what she had when the cameras were off was a self absorbed little wimp, who was 7 years older and divorced with a kid. What a young pretty girl in her 20's would have in common with this I don't know?
Now I can see why Jason is divorced, he's too selfish to work on a relationship.

This show is really stupid and now I know why I have never watched it! Have all of the 12 previous bachelors married the girl they chose and are they living 'Happily ever-after' ?

My family has watched the Bachelor/Bachelorette series since the beginning. After tonight, we may never watch again, and I hope MANY viewers will stand with me on this. Tonight reminded me of a Jerry Springer show. I KNOW that is was staged, and first, I believe that Melissa WAS really hurt, but part of the reason they aired it on TV, instead of letting him break up with her in private later, like most of them do -- perhaps she had a hard time accepting the break-up and he wanted to have it done on national TV, so it was DONE and she would accept him with Molly (a hard pill to swallow and cruel). Add to that, they make sure she is long gone and off the set before the scenes with Molly and Jason (were they fearing cat fight? Secondly, I do definitely think they did this for ratings, and it showed no sensitivity. I have lost respect for Chris Harrison, also, and believe he has changed a lot since the beginning. Not for ONE MOMENT do I believe that Jason and Molly hadn't talked, and when both were asked if they hadn't been in touch with each other since the last show, they batted their eye lashes, looked down, signs of lying (for those who study it, and I have). I am positive they had contact to make sure this show wouldn't be a disaster for Jason -- no way would he go on there and be rejected again, by Molly. It was staged, at least with Molly, and it was acting. I do believe that Melissa's hurt was real, and I feel they were VERY disrespectful to her - did Chris show her ANY compassion? Another issue to take into account is Jason may not have liked her family. He kept mentioning they spent Christmas together, which usually means family get togethers. Perhaps that didn't go too well. Another factor is from past experience, we know that when couples watch the show together, jealousy does arise and insecurities and perhaps Jason didn't support Melissa very well if that came up and I can bet it did! That kind of thing is natural, it depends on how the couples HANDLE it together. And lastly, I believe coy Molly planted seeds of doubt in Jason's mind numerous times just BEFORE he was to propose to Melissa. Perhaps she continued to do that because I DO NOT BELIEVE that had NO contact. Chris Harrison and gang, we are not fools, and this season and the way you handled it is ridiculous and unworthy. I think Jason needs therapy and doesn't know what he wants, but Molly with her somewhat unemotional ways and strong personality will probably lead him around by the b...s and perhaps lessen his tears when she holds him and comforts him. Lost all respect for Jason, perhaps ONE DAY YOU WILL GROW UP AND BE A MAN. Molly, obviously you will wear the pants in the family, and Melissa, YOU WILL find a decent guy one day, just don't give your heart all at once, and try to get YOUR family in therapy because they don't truly seem emotionally supportive of the things you do and you have accomplished alot. Hugs to you, girl. I encourage people to write to the show and complain because this was tacky, tacky tacky and most of all, I can't stand the lies and drama. This show is going DOWNHILL fast. peacebwithu1@aol.com - write if you agree.

It is the absolute worst demonstration of being a man that I have ever seen. Jason’s inability to act like a man is the reason he cannot find or keep a woman. He cried when he let Nikki go, then when he let Stephanie go, then when he let Jillian go, then when he let Molly go, and tonight when he let Melissa go. To validate what a creep he is he dumped Melissa on national TV then patronized Molly by asking her to take him back after dumping her on national TV then crying about that like a little boy. I really hope someone saves all this and shows it to his son so Ty will know just how low a man can go and will feel the shame his father should have for being a part of this.
If it is real like he told Melissa tonight then he is nothing more than a dirt bag for agreeing to be a part of such a demeaning action as he took with Melissa tonight, and for the low respect he had for Molly by asking for her to give him a second chance five minutes after he just dumped Melissa. If it was scripted and fake then he really has no respect for himself or woman as he just participated in ABC’s attempt to validate why women feel men are so shallow and without character.
While Molly did not represent women in the most honorable fashion on tonight’s show Jason really came off as a womanizer and total jerk. I am done with this pathetic show and its pathetic need to increase rating by abusing women and disrespecting the emotion and loyalty of the audience.
All they had to do was let Jason and Melissa have a happy ending and next seasons show would have had a huge rating increase. There were no winners on this show. ABC, Jason, Molly, Melissa, and the audience were all losers tonight. Sad!
