The Bachelor Spoilers: Blame Melissa Rycroft's Parents!
Rumors that Jason Mesnick will choose Melissa Rycroft on next Monday's The Bachelor season finale only to dump her during the "After the Final Rose" special in favor of runner-up Molly Malaney have sparked controversy among fans.
This Bachelor spoiler bombshell, courtesy of a reality TV blogger claiming to be in the know, is now giving way to a slightly different iteration.
Rather that hatching this elaborate scheme with ABC from the beginning to create the most possible drama - a charge host Chris Harrison vehemently denies - the new theory is that Jason simply changed his mind and swapped girls on his own.
According to message boards on Reality Steve's blog - which first broke The Bachelor spoilers in question - a 67-year-old ex-ABC employee who knows people involved with the show claims Melissa's actions resulted in Jason's change of heart.
Jason Mesnick's "hometown date" with Melissa raised red flags.
The insider says Jason Mesnick proposes to Melissa Rycroft in New Zealand and she accepts. That much has been rumored since the first promo of the year.
However, according to this Bachelor insider, the trouble begins when they return to the hotel and she calls her folks to break the engagement news.
Melissa's parents, of course, were conspicuously absent from the Bachelor hometown dates episode. Melissa said that they were private people not comfortable being on camera. Even stranger, none of Melissa's friends had ever met them either.
It seems in addition to their private tendencies that kept them off the show, her parents were also not exactly keen on a match made on reality TV.
They were against Melissa Rycroft getting engaged, period.
Rumors has it that after this exchange, Melissa returned to Jason and told him she thinks they should slow things down and get to know each other better.
Supposedly, Jason Mesnick did not take this well and broke down crying. Could this be the scenario leading to the image of a devastated Jason in the promos?
Jason fell for both Melissa and Molly and made a choice based on who wanted to be with him more. Clearly, he was wrong and should have gone with Molly.
Then comes the infamous "After the Final Rose" special, where Jason describes how Melissa became more and more distant and gave off the impression that she never seriously wanted to see their relationship lead to marriage.
Feeling rejected, Jason calls up Molly and starts dating her.
Rumor has it all three key players in this Bachelor saga are on hand to hash out what went down - on a second "After the Final Rose" special filmed this week.
Ultimately, it is Melissa Rycroft who leaves the stage.
So, we now have two different versions of this giant Bachelor spoiler with the same basic outcome: Jason picks Melissa, but later ends up with Molly Malaney.

Melissa will do alright. Many new horizons will she have and opportunities galore. She will not falter. She will move forward very quickly and with success and happiness of HER choice!

I think Jason and DeAnna are meant for each other. Both are LOSERS! I am happy to have read that Melissa has been dating a previous friend already. She deserves so much more than Jason. I really thought he was a nice guy but at times thought he was a phoney. He wants to eat his cake pc by pc fully frosted.
Molly, he can toss you aside a second time and go after Jillian or any of the other 25 beautiful gals he said he was falling in love with. I have to wonder if you were really as surprised as you appeared when Jason said he ended things with Melissa. I bet the 2 of you had this all planned out. I feel sorry for his son who has to be influenced by him.
I am not sure if I will continue watching ABC's next episode of the Bachelorette. Unless I feel like I want to watch a comedy show. It's become a big laugh and not sincere at all. Guess we have all been fooled if we really think relationships can last from a reality show. I am so gullable at times. I'm the first to admit

Why is ABC having Jillian as the next Bachlorette? I did like Jill, however, thought that America would have rather seen Stephanie (the one who lost her husband in a plane crash, and has a little girl) be the next Bachlorette. Oh well...I probably won't watch anyway. *yawn*

Very disappointed in the turn out of Jason Mesnick choosing Molly instead of Melissa on Monday night.I'm so mad a ABC for doing this spinn off.I will never see another Bachelor or Bachelorette show ever again.I know ABC can come up with a real show with an actual lovestory behind it:(

Jason is the ultimate douche bag. He did not have to propose to Melissa when he knew how torn he was. I mean look at how he cried like a little girl after she left so he obvioulsy knew something then. Jason sucks

I find it funny how is family was drilling her because they dont want him to get hurt again and look what HE did....His family must be proud. Love is hard but you have to work on it....As melissa said.....you have to fight for it and he was to much of a jerk. I think he did make a mistake.....She was a sweetheart.......great with his kid....and seemed very real. I hope she is well and finds true love. As for Jason and Molly i dont see it lasting with all the drama around it......unless they are both heartless jerks. I caint believe after the Deanna incidnet of her letting him get downa nd start to propose and he got so UPSET why would he do that to someone else?? I am just so angry i thought he would be a good Bachelor now he is worse than Brad. BEst of luck to Melissa.

I think the media ought to leave Jason and Moly alone. But if they love to show crazy stuff like Monday and Tuesday, they should be penalized if the couple becomes like Chris Brown and Rhianna. Hearts broken do strange things and the media loves promoting that right?

He is so egotistical, it's pathetic. Have some self respect Molly! OMG....it's a good thing Melissa is not with him because she is a special girl. Melissa is smart, mature, wise and fun. Jason is not good enough to lick the ground Melissa walks on.
