  1. Ydal Says:

I think that she has a valid point. There are so many more worth while causes that could use you "donation"! Think about it the next time you see one of those dumb commercials! When we have starving shildren in our own nation! Donate to you local food bank for heaven sake!

  2. CCMD Says:

I have said it a few times already. If you are so vehemently against this, then take a look in your refrigerator and in protest, take the following items out of your fridge and refuse to buy them anymore:

-All meat products, heck even the poor fish.
    -Milk, throw it out..
    -Cheese
    -Eggs!!
    -Ice cream!!

All the animals responsible for those items were treated with far less dignity than the wolves in the cull and in far greater numbers. Your steak likely wandered around a putrid feed lot full of fecal matter and possibly a few deceased, trampled in the crowd.

  3. sarah Says:

you all are ate up in the head. i am not in favor of abortion, i know how the process goes, and i think it is horrible. i started out at the age of 18 as a mother, no college degree and dirt poor. i knew this would happen, and i still decided to go along with the pregnancy, abortion never once became an option. i might not have had a lot of money, but there was plenty of love to go around. but, what about the women that have been raped? do you think they have the right to abort. and before you say that adoption is the best choice in that situation, stop and think about this. having a man beat you and force himself on you and then having to carry his child for nine months. you might say that you would carry the child and give it up for adoption, and if you do, im sure your full of it. in a lot of ways, thats where prochoice comes in, giving the mother the right to choice. also, why are you guys carrying on about being against abortion and being for the shooting of these wolves. can you not think for yourselves? why not say that abortion is bad, but the shooting of the animals is wrong too? believe it or not, you are able to make your own decisions even of they are different to what your beloved elizabeth says and thinks

  4. Liz Says:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a shrill, brainless twit. And to think I liked her on 'Survivor'.
Too bad Rosie is gone to put that Republican Barbie in check.

What the hell does abortion have to do with killing wolves in the most horrific manner?
Nothing, so why write about it here. Use a different comment section for that.
You go Ashley Judd, take out that Alaskan Caribou Barbie.

  5. Molli Says:

It would be nice if Elizabeth would just stay on topic. I have yet to meet a person who is FOR abotion, they are just pro-choice! Give me a break, step away from your agenda and that of the Republican Party for just a moment Elizabeth. Are you really for aerial hunting of wolves? Their slow death and unnecessary suffering?

  6. sodapop Says:

When Hasselbeck feels attacked, she attacks. If this was any other ad about cruel animal treatment, she would not bring up abortion. If a celebrity was promoting an AIDS charity, would Liz say - if they believe in the sanctity of life, why don't they speak out against abortion? If this was genuinely what made her mad, she would bring it up any time someone spoke about an issue to do with 'life'. Even Sherri Shepherd outsmarted her and called her on the bull that it just upsets her that people bring up one issue of the sanctity of life without the other, asking why she doesn't get mad if people bring up pro-life issues without saying 'oh and save the animals!'.

What's embarrassing is Hasselbeck doesn't see how transparent she is. Someone is -rightfully - criticising the actions of her hero Sarah Palin and instead of just respecting people might see it that way, even if Hasselbeck disagrees, she has to attack and discredit. It's also quite nasty to decide someone speaking out against such cruelty must have ulterior motives - everyone wants to randomly bash Palin, apparently! Yep, just for the fun of it! Palin never does anything wrong - Liz knows she is kind because she's met her! Politicians NEVER put on a good front - if you meet one and they smile at you (or better yet, wink!), you know they're A-OK!

Hasselbeck's argument is so confused and nonsensical, it's painful to hear her attempt to make it. There are sooo many holes in it, one of which, as I said, Shepherd found. Another is: by equating this issue with abortion, which she is vehemently against obviously, she is saying the wolf killings are bad. She almost never says in her argument you should speak out about abortion INSTEAD of this- she says as well as. Then in another breath, she says the wolves have to be killed to save the caribou, there is nothing wrong with it. Which is it, Hasselbeck - is it wrong like you say abortion is, therefore both should be spoken of in the same breath, or is it ok because of course kind, sweet Sarah researched it all carefully and knows what she's doing?

Hasselbeck is clearly as big on research as Palin is. If she'd read up, was willing to understand issues and not just automatically believe Palin is always right, she'd find out "172 scientists signed a letter to Palin, expressing concern about the lack of science behind the state's wolf-killing operation."

Kudos to Ashley Judd for raising awareness about the extent of this cruelty at Palin's hands. Hasselbeck is wrong that Judd is just picking Palin as an easy target (and harsh to say it's just to raise money). Actually, it's easier to just forget Palin and feel like she's only Alaska's problem now. It's important that some of the atrocities Palin has committed that were brought to light are still dealt with.

  7. Shirley Says:

I keep hoping that Elizabeth Hasselback will finally grow up and learn to keep her mouth shut. She has a vitriolic tongue and uses it prejudicially and frequently. Bad selection to represent the View and her co-hosts. She needs to go home and learn to rock her baby and see her mental health counselor.

  8. lizz Says:

Elizabeth Hassekback has waaay too many opinions. Seriously!! Why the hell would you bring in abortion to a topic about wolves??!! Nobody is ever going to agree on abortion or hunting so why bring it up?! I think the woman sat next to Whoppie was totally right, Elizabeth Hasselback is an opinionated, nasty fame whore. Harsh but true.

  9. Lizzie Says:

go away elizabeth hasselbeck! you are a crazy nutcase and nobody wants to listen to you talk anymore! go home and take care of your unborn child and teach your husband how to play football. ha.

  10. Psychohontas Says:

I wish her mother woulda ripped her out with a coat hanger, so we wouldn't have to hear her b.s. Why should women be slaves to their reproductive organs????

  11. harumph Says:

What about the illegal killing of over 1,000,000 Iraqis who were fully living OUTSIDE A WOMB AND PLACENTA??!!

Is that just excusable because Bush/GOP authorized every bit of it??!

Is that a lesser figure than the number of fetuses? A number of fetuses that women, often for important reasons, CHOSE LEGALLY not to support before independent life is even likely in the last trimester?....

As the other, more worldly and mature hostesses said, THERE IS NO COMPARISON between abortion and killing a fully healthy adult mammal that has qualified for protection under the Endangered Species Act. (Hello-at 5 billion on the planet, the human species are nowhere near endangered!)

And if Elizabeth is so hog wild about forcing every other woman to bear a child at every possible time, then why doesn't she adopt some of these unwanted kids, who are often neglected, abused, and miserable??? Why doesn't she adopt one of these unwanted children, instead of cranking out more herself when there are millions who need homes and live in orphanages or gutters all over the world???!!

Stuff the hypocrisy, already, and stop twisting the point.

  12. Kamron Samuels Says:

Far be it for me to comment on celebrities since I tend to avoid any discussion of people I will never know. But reading this headline made my blood boil.

A wolf that is CLEARLY ALIVE, is being killed in an inhumane way. If you're culling to save another population, fine, but there are far more humane ways in which to go about it.

Comparing the inhumane killing of a living creature to the aborting of something that is DEBATABLY alive is ludicrous. The question of when an embryo is alive is still in debate, and in fact that debate is usually one based on faith rather than facts. We terminate patients when they become brain dead, because there is no chance for a normal life or one possessed of any quality. Why then do we weep over something that has no discernible brain or brain functions?

Hasselbeck is a woman who blindly follows her religious and political views without leaving room for any other point of view. No matter how many facts are present in the opposing argument. Her belief is that if you are louder than your opponent then you win the argument, and are therefor right. This is incorrect. Her, and people like her should be allowed to speak freely, yes, but they shouldnt be allowed to do it where it could influence impressionable minds aching for some one bigger than them to give orders.

  13. Emily Says:

People are quick to say put the baby up for adoption. Well, how about the many of children who are in orphanage and are not being adopted? There would be over 200,000 babies to adopt! Most women/girls have abortion because they are afraid and young. Here are some statistics: 52% of women obtaining abortions in the U.S. are younger than 25: Women aged 20-24 obtain 32% of all abortions; Teenagers obtain 20% and girls under 15 account for 1.2%. 64.4% of all abortions are performed on never-married women. Women with family incomes less than $15,000 obtain 28.7% of all abortions; Women with family incomes between $15,000 and $29,999 obtain 19.5%; Women with family incomes between $30,000 and $59,999 obtain 38.0%. 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient. 54% percent of women who have abortions had used a contraceptive method. Among those women, 76% of pill users and 49% of condom users report having used their method inconsistently, while 13% of pill users and 14% of condom users report correct use. About 60% of abortions are obtained by women who have one or more children. Now you tell me, Does Elizabeth Hasselback fit into any of those statistics? Unless the shoe fits, well... it seems as if the shoe fits right into her big mouth. One last thing: why does her facebook show nothing about her family? It only promotes her! Elizabeth, I stopped watching The View because you are on. It’s a shame the other women have to put up with you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you want everyone to think like you and that makes you arrogant and ignorant. Check yourself please!

  14. Trout Says:

"should I have brought this baby into the world and take the chance of causing the baby undue harm because of my stupidity, or was it selfish of me to terminate"

By that logic, if a woman recently gives birth and later decides she cannot take care of it/doesn't want it to have a bad life, etc. why is she not allowed to kill it? A newborn is about as sapient/sentient as a fetus in the womb. http://supervegan.com/blog/entry.php?id=436

"I am almost 28 now, but when I was 20 I was in a horrible relationship, abusive, drugs, and every other thing you can imagine."

Heck, according to your logic, you should have been aborted yourself, or at least have committed suicide by now. Didn't you just say its better to be dead than possibly have bad things happen in your life? Apparently life is better, or you wouldn't be alive right now. But I guess its easier to snuff out a tiny life than your own.

    Hurray for hypocrisy.

  15. d san Says:

Elizabeth H is an ignorant mongrel
I f I had the chance to save her or the wolf I would pick the wolf
She slandered Obama all along his campaign she is so phoney and an ugly person in & out!
    Payback is a witch

  16. stephanie Says:

I do not support abortion, however I have a lot of respect for Ms. Judd. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. She is a great HUMAN RIGHTS activist and is just giving her side of the story, even though she and I are not on the same page in that book. All I can say to her is that if it's OK to kill babies, then it should be OK to kill wolves in Alaska. After all, that is what them Alaskans eat.

  17. Bite me, Louie Says:

Hey Louie Louie, I wonder how many self-righteous, know it all "fathers" actually support and raise the children of the world.
Oh, that's right, most just leave it to the womenfolk. Figured as much.

Obsess about your own crotch and leave women's parts alone.

  18. No Doormat Says:

Elizabeth Hasselbeck is just another annoying, grating conservative dingbat trying to impress her man.

Nothing more annoying than these pitiful, right wing cows who wants all the RIGHTS of women, but then slam women's rights at every turn. These "women" need backbones......and a wakeup call, it's not like anything they will ever say will impress their men. Their men still will think they are inferior. haha.

    Truth hurts, doesn't it?

  19. stylist25 Says:

Who the hell cares about Wolves and any other kind of animals. Damn there are hunters everyday shooting/hunting for animals...."Are they going to protest against that too"?? This is absolutly rediculous. A woman doesnt care about laying down having sex, but what can come along with that is a total different aspect. I dont care if the woman wasnt expecting a child or not....that unborn child had a heart beat from day one. Its crueltly, murder, etc..to have an abortion.
These little lives are innocent, if a mother doesnt want her child then bless him/her with another family whom will actually care and love.
Anyone who is for abortion then you are no better than a murderer. POINT BLANK!!!!!!

  20. sheryl cobb Says:

Elisabeth it is okay for you to comment on any thing you wish to. But for you to to compare wolves to kids is ridculus. If I was Mrs Judd I would be ver upset with you right now.And I can see why your co-workers got so upset with you and why Whoopi cut you off and went to a comercial break. Now I have a question why do you hate President Obama so much. I know people that was not on Bush side but still gave him credit where it was do. It seems to me that you are alittle bias are you. I've heard Whoopi say something nice about Bush and all the rest of your co-worker so what is your proplem with saying something nice about President Obama.Let me just leave you with this thier has always been a white President since the beginning of time democrate or repulican and me being a black lady I accepted that. Now we have a black President accept it and move on.

  21. Bonnie Miick Says:

THE KILLING OF WOLFS WAS TO PROTECT OTHER ANIMALS FROM THEIR OVER POPULATION. ALASKANS USE CARIBOU AN OTHER ANIMALS FOR THEIR FOOD SOURCES. SO THE IDIOT JUDD DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IN THE HELL SHE IS TALKING ABOUT. TYPICAL LEFTIE HOLLYWERIDOS WHO DO NOT HAVE THE FACTS.
