A quick primer: Rutherford, 40, plays the mother of Blake Lively's high school character, Serena. A new spinoff of Gossip Girl will feature a young Lily in 1980s L.A., where she meets a young Rufus, played by Matthew Settle on GG.
Lily and Rufus were lovers way back in the day, and we recently learned they had a child together - one she gave up for adoption and who has yet to be revealed. Rufus is the father of Dan Humphrey, Serena's boyfriend. Okay, we good?

they're all kind of weird looking. none can really match up to lily's character, but kristin might work . and anyway, she did have practise acting on laguna beach.
