The City debuted last night with back-to-back episodes, "If She Can Make it Here..." and "The Truth Will Reveal Itself." The Hills spinoff did not disappoint.

In typical fashion, The Hollywood Gossip will be recapping every episode, awarding and deducting points as it sees fit. Last night's introduction to the series found Whitney Port overwhelmed by co-workers, friends and boyfriend drama in N.Y.C.

On to the rankings!

Not enough fashion exposure - during Fashion Week, no less. Minus 3.

Who the heck is Erin Lucas, and how is Whitney friends with her? We don't really understand this relationship, but she seems pretty nice! Plus 4.

Charming as he seems one moment, Jay Lyon sure can act like a jerk the next. Mumbling repeatedly and proclaiming that he's gonna do whatever the eff he wants doesn't endear you to most people. Minus 5. But Plus 3 for the accent and hair!

What to you make of Whitney Port and smooth-talking Jay Lyon?

Our first impressions of Olivia Palermo were not exactly strong. Anybody calling herself a "social" - short for socialite, like you need a nickname for that - automatically sucks. And who the hell calls a debutante ball a  "Deb." Lame. Minus 7.

This isn't a specific point, but a general observation - by virtue of her intelligence and the fact that she's relatable on some level, a show about Whitney Port sure beats one that - at least in Season Four - focused so much on Audrina Patridge. Plus 10.

Speaking of Audzo, Whitney stands up to Jay Lyon, unlike a certain someone. Calling him out on the issue with his ex showed she's not going to be a pushover. Plus 2.

In the world of entertainment news, few stories are as consistently engrossing as a truly juicy break-up.

Years later, millions are still fascinated by Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's split; while others search for information on whether or not Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are together this week.

With that in mind, 2008 didn't disappoint.

A few surprising couples remained steady (Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush; Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan), but other pairings crashed harder than the stock market.

Kevin Federline may have met his match in new girlfriend Victoria Prince, a Grade A bad ass who spent six months waiting tables at Houston’s restaurant in Manhattan Beach before she left to play professional beach volleyball.

Her former co-worker at a California restaurant tells celebrity news magazine Life & Style that the FedEx man may have his hands full with Victoria Prince - and not just because the volleyballer stands a towering 6-foot-2:

"She’s really smart and witty. She’s a strong and independent woman, and always wears the pants in her relationship. I hope Kevin can handle her! She’s pretty hardheaded. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, even if it means insulting someone.”

Strong, witty and independent? You're right. No way K-Fed can deal.

Perhaps little Suri is trying to send a message to her dad, Tom Cruise, that she does not want 8-9 brothers and sisters, as he has expressed interest in.

There will be no shutting Michael Lohan up now.

The irresponsible father of Lindsay and Ali (and Ashley Kaufman!) has discovered the Internet, creating his own blog and letting the world in on every last thought that enters his marble-sized brain.

The latest? He's declaring peace between himself and his daughter.

"There is a truce between Lindsay and I, so please stop adding any fuel to the fire," Michael wrote yesterday on his new official site, MikeLohanOnline.com. "I respectfully ask that all sources, so called friends and mouthpieces refrain from any more comments or suggestions on her blog."

As Israel continues to declare war on Hamas, Michael Lohan aims for peace with Lindsay Lohan.

Kim Kardashian isn't afraid to don a strange-looking bathing suit.

Similarly, Daniel Craig is far from shy when it comes to showing off his toned body.

The Quantum of Solace star was spotted on the beach last week, donning swim attire that would make Jenna Jameson blush.

Woody Harrelson and Laura Louie, his girlfriend of two decades, married on Sunday on the island of Maui, his rep confirmed to celebrity news magazines.

The couple, who have been together for 20 years, tied the knot in front of a small group of their family and friends, including singer Willie Nelson and actors Owen Wilson and Sean Penn. Alanis Morissette sang at the ceremony.

Harrelson’s rep said, “Woody Harrelson and Laura Louie were officially married yesterday on the island of Maui. The ceremony was attended by family and friends. The couple have been together 20 years and are the proud parents of three daughters.”

The private wedding took place near Harrelson’s home in Kipahulu, Maui around 4.30 p.m. An hour later a large cheer could be heard by nearby hikers.

Harrelson fell in love with Louie in 1987 after meeting her on the set of Cheers.

In other celebrity wedding news, Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard just got engaged!

Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican V.P. candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth Sunday to a healthy baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.

"We think it's wonderful," said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath (Sarah Palin's mother), who confirmed the exciting news early this evening.

"The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."

The baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston. Yes, Tripp. His name is actually less weird than we were predicting, considering that we're talking about Bristol Palin here. But at the same time, she lived up to the family standards nicely.

Tripp Johnston weighed seven pounds and four ounces at the time of his birth.

The little guy takes his surname from his dad, Levi Johnston, 18, a former Wasilla High School hockey player who has been dating Bristol for three years.

Bristol Palin is currently residing in her hometown of Wasilla, laying low and completing her high-school diploma through some correspondence courses.

Levi Johnston is in the process of studying to become an electrician. His mother, Sherry Johnston, was recently busted on several felony drug charges.

The eldest of Sarah and Todd Palin's three daughters (the couple also have two sons, Trig and Track), Bristol Palin made headlines with her pregnancy last summer, just as her mom was being selected as John McCain's running mate.

Bristol plan and Levi to wed in 2009 and raise the child together.

As the world awaits news of the imminent birth of Bristol Palin's baby (the daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was due before Christmas), authorities are outlining the felony drug case against her baby daddy's mama, Sherry Johnston.

Sherry, the mother of Levi Johnston, was arrested December 19 after she sent a pair of text messages to police informants discussing drug transactions before her arrest on felony drug charges, the Anchorage Daily News reports.

According to the state's biggest newspaper, an affidavit says Sherry Johnston sent text messages referring to "coffee" as a code for the drug OxyContin, a strong prescription painkiller sometimes called "hillbilly heroin" on the street.

Johnston sent a text message to one informant on October 1 - well into Sarah Palin's campaign for the vice presidency on the Republican ticket - writing:

"Hey, my phones are tapped and reporters and god knows who else is always following me and the family so no privacy. I will let u no when I can go for cof."

THE JOHNSTONS: One happy, prescription-drug dealing, baby-making family.

Authorities say the case began in September when drug investigators intercepted a package containing 179 Oxycontin pills. That led to the arrest of the suspects.

They agreed to be informants, and 10 days after Johnston said there wasn't enough privacy for a drug sale, she texted again to set up a meeting at a store.

The document indicates that the informant received $800 to make a purchase, meeting investigators later with 10 pills of 80-milligram Oxycontin.

A second purchase was made the following day, authorities said. This time the informant wore a hidden camera and a microphone to record Sherry Johnston.

A third purchase allegedly occurred November 26. The informant was wired for the transaction and this time, Alaska police videotaped the meeting.

Sherry Johnston was arrested last week after police arrived at her Wasilla home with a search warrant. She is currently free after posting bail.
