Readers may actually have seen this aspiring singer in action before, as he rose to viral fame via a YouTube video of him singing “And I Am Telling You,” the song from Dreamgirls that basically won Jennifer Hudson an Oscar.
Due to the video's popularity, Smith was invited to perform on The View and BET’s 106 and Park. Here's his performance of the song on the former show:

This comment is to "D". How very irresponsible of you for making the statement you made about Von's mother. Obviously, if there was an issue worthy of further intervention, you would have taken action at that time. Don't make harmful statements that have nothing to do with the actual subject matter, which is Von. Obviously, you have nothing better to do than sit around and gossip. If his mother did indeed do something offensive to your child, and you didn't report it, what kind of mother does that make you??? How dare you try and taint the image of a wonderful talent who brings much joy to many. Grow up!!
