It's Britney Spears! Did you guess right?

President-Elect Barack Obama (#3) bested the Clintons and the extreme right, but even he could not dethrone Britney. The WWE (#2) was also too much for our next Chief Executive. He did top ever-present Miley Cyrus, who came in at #4.

It's impressive that Britney Spears was first in searches despite a fairly low-key year overall. Then again, the previous year and the first month of '08 - when she was hospitalized twice and dated Adnan Ghalib - certainly contributed.
