Breaking news: Christina Aguilera has nothing against Britney Spears.
Did anyone think she did? Who knows. But the dirrrty one expressed nothing but praise for her former Mickey Mouse Club cohort in a recent interview.
"I don't pass any judgment on what she does," Christina Aguilera told the UK's Daily Mail. "I always wish Britney nothing but the best. When we both started out releasing records (in 1998-1999), it was a funny time for me."
"It must have seemed as if we were competing, but, in reality, Britney is someone that I used to hold hands with. We were silly little girls together doing the Mickey Mouse Club. What a journey it has been for the both of us!"
These days, with kids and careers (Britney has two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and a new album, Circus, dropping December 2) and busy lives, the young moms don't talk often, but it's not because they don't like each other, she says.
"There are been many stories about the two of us not getting on," Christina Aguilera, who has an 11-month-old son Max, said. "We don't keep closely in touch with one another, and it's obvious how our lives have taken on different directions."

You an generally tell when these quotes are made up. I don't know very many people in the US who say "two of us not getting on". You are far more likely to hear "getting along". The former is very British.

Good to see Christina's finally coming to terms with the fact that no matter what, Britney will always be foxier than her, more popular than her, hotter than her, sexier than her and more lusted after than her. Still, Christina needs to put those hot-air balloons of hers away already. We all know those things are fake, just like the rest of her.
