Selena Gomez is in the middle of an alleged feud with Miley Cyrus and the subject of dating rumors regarding fellow child star Nick Jonas.
Today, though, she's talking only about her debut album.
The actress-singer is, not surprisingly, "super excited" about starting work on it. But the 16-year-old, who stars in The Wizards of Waverly Place on the Disney Channel, has some surprises in store on the music front.
"I'm going to be in a band — no Selena Gomez stuff," she told MTV News. "I'm not a solo artist. I don't think I want my name attached to it."

Selena Gomez, 16, is growing up fast!
The star said that the album will have a pop-rock feel to it, and she plans to play instruments on some of the album's tracks.
"I basically want to make music that is fun and that parents and kids can jump around to and have a good time to," Selena Gomez said.
"I will be singing, and I'm learning drums and playing electric guitar."
She even wants to take a backseat at times during live gigs.
"I would like to try it and kind of switch it up," she said.
"When I do the tour and stuff, I would like to do maybe a section on the piano or on guitar or on drums."
And although she's super psyched, a music career is relatively new to her, so Selena is determined not to crimp anyone's style.
"You know the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are my friends, so I would not copy or do anything that they did. They're really good, obviously, so I'm going to let them have that. But it's kind of fun to learn things."

okk i'm good friends with both selena and miley. They are bestest of friends and have never been in the littlest fight. Miley still likes Nick but she would never fight with selena over him. Nick and Selena were dating but lately they decided it is wayy better to be just friends. I was tlking to Nick and he kinda hinted to me that the reason was because he still had a thing for Miley and btww the wholething with joe and miley it was a one time thing when miley and nick split up she was only looking for comfort so dont get any ideas:] I see Miley demi selena nick and joe almost everyday and i'm telling you the truth belive what you want but i get it right from the sources and you peolpe making up all this stuff cut it out because your just makin life harder for them and they have nothing personel agnist YOUU so cut it out.

where do i start...first of all this whole thing ends back up at nick. if nick and miley wouldve never gotten together, none of this stupid stuff wouldve happended. all this "love sick" stuff has wasted everybodys time. and honestly..NICK IS UGLY. i dont know what selena or miley were thinkin, but they must have something wrong with their heads. all theyve caused is DRAMA and a whole bunch of RUMERS. and also, selena should just stick to her stupid show and not go into a "singing career". she also needs to do something different with her hair. her hair makes her head look like a cone head. at least cut off a few layers..or maybe all of it!! -jammer

Ok Number 1: You ppl who are talking trash about Selena, you must be jealous cause she is pretty, can act, and has a great voice. I triple threat. So Stop trash talking her and move on!
