Britney Spears Featured in Pair of VMA Ads

The 2008 MTV VMAs are just around the corner and the network has unveiled two ads featuring host Russell Brand and (who else) Britney Spears.

“The ad was mostly ad-libbed, with Russell Brand asking her for advice about hosting the show,” a source tells E! Online.

“There’s also a 9,000-pound elephant in it ... as in ‘the elephant in the room.’”

That being Britney's career-ending debacle at last year's VMA's of course. Her amazing rendition of "Gimme More" was truly one for the ages.

The MTV VMAs will be airing live from Paramount Studios in L.A., and one time only in its original format on Sunday, September 7 at 9 p.m.
