David Archuleta obviously should have won American Idol. Yea he did sing alot of ballads, but thats who he is and thats what he does. He's good at it and he shouldnt be judged for it. Now as for David Cook, we all know where he's going. He's gonna be another Chris Daughtry with his rock songs and probably a band. We dont need that again. We need something different and David Archuleta was that something different. And besides, the fan girls want someone close to their age who's a real cutie. Someone who they can listen to and drool over. They can't do that with David Cook.

SO HAPPY DC WON, HE DESERVED IT...HE IS A TALENTED HOT DUDE, I LOVE HIS VOICE, AND HE CAN SING ANY SONG, EVEN IF HE HAS THIS ROCKSTAR PACKAGE...WHILE DA CAN ONLY DO BALLADS...ITS SO OBVIOUS...IN THEIR FINAL SONG AT AI, DA CAN'T DELIVER, HE IS SUPER POWERED BY THE VOICE AS WELL AS THE STAGE PRESENCE OF DC...AI IS NOT VOICE PER SE, IT'S THE WHOLE PACKAGE,,,HE IS THE FIRST AI WORTH WATCHING.

You Americans are so dumb!!! Of course Cook won because you consume that kind of screaming "pseudo grunge" second hand singer and then forget about them... Cook is not bad for a band singer leading, but please!!! No way you can compare that with someone who at 17 is already a jewel. Agreed with Jasmine... Cook is another Daughtry... the difference is that Daughtry is leading a band and recognized he can't be a solo artist.... DA should won OF COURSE.

i fur shuree think david a should have won!! but david cook is also really good! i liked them both..so its all done and over with..stop trashing both of them! neither of them deserve to be trashed! they are both getting records and we will be hearing a lot of them. just be happy with what happened.

the only reason DC won is because the producers wanted him to. My god!!! Are you people tone deaf or something?!?!?! DA is clearly the better singer. End of the story. The producers of Idol wanted Cook to win because he is more 'manageable'. Look at the song they chose for DA the top 3 week. 'Longer'? Are you freaking kidding me? And when he wanted to arrange the song differently, to shake it up a little bit, they totally dissed him in the face. Even Simon had it all planned out. He knows that when he gives over-the-top compliments to someone, the fans would go crazy and vote for the remains. 'the kiss of death' he said. And he apologized because he didn't want to look bad in front of people. I watched the last performances hundreds of times and I still think DA's performances were far better.
Cook is just a Daughtry gone bad. How can Cook even be anywherein the same universe as Chris, and yet he won and Chris Daughtry didn't. WTF people?
I should quote my good friend :"Cook will do a Ford commercial, lose more hair, extend his beer belly and fade off into obscurity. He and Taylor Hicks will email each other once in a while and wonder why being the American Idol is so lame."
Ok so Cook is creative, but then again, Archie is too. His arrangements of some of the songs were waaayy better than the originals. And his voice is just so beautiful and unique, there's just a certain magic to it, he's the only singer that has ever been able to make me cry listening to him, it's like he can touch my heart.
Besides, he's such a great role model, some body you can look up to. He's so humble, witty, friendly, caring, selfless. He always putting other people first. I love it how he spent one of his rare spare days after Idol singing for troubled teens, and he wanted to arrange a concert in Utah just so he can sing and talk to fans, since he didn't have the chance to really talk to them during the homecoming. The tickets would only cost a dollar, and all the money would be donated to charity. But then again, he was dissed again by the producers of AI. He just has a heart of gold and a beautiful soul. Not just that, he's a good son and a straight-As student. Don't you want your kids to have an idol like that, people?
After all is said, DA didn't lose AI, AI lost DA. And I believe that he will always be loved and will have an extremely bright future ahead. And I will always be a Archey Angel, and proud

I love David Archuleta, and I coudn't agree with kelly more. He's just deserve to win so much more than Cook. But what's done is done, and Archie doesn't need American Idol , he will have an amazing career.

What is wrong with ballads?!?! David Archuleta's music helped me through the hardest time of my life. If it wasn't for his smile humble performances and "master class" volcals as Simon put. But David A. will prove that Idol was unnessacary because he will be just as sucsseful as cook if not more. And think what kind of Idol do you want kids to have. Smart,Caring, good kid, humble,heart of gold. Well guess who has all of that David Archuleta does!

People, please look at the facts.(1)This is just my opinion but I honestly think Archie should have won but it's over now and just because he didn't win doesn't make him any less of who he is.(2)Cook fans, it absolutly brings me to tears when I see the horrible things you write in comments about him. I'm not talking about all Cook fans, but some of you can be really cruel. David A. is a beautiful person inside and out, a true inspiration and role model to me and so many others in the world, and his voice has done wonderful things for a lot of peolpe. Please don't bring him and his fans down.(3)I strongly believe that God put David on this earth to give people hope in this world at it's time of trouble, war, and evil. He is someone who truly cares about others and there is nothing fake about him at all.
I could go on and on with other wonderful things to say about him, but if I did this would be a really long comment. Cook fans, don't think I don't like or respect DC.It's just that I love DA,and I hate seeing mean, untrue things written about him. I think he has a great personality, he is funny, and he's like a big brother to Archie. His music and singing doesn't do anything for me but I think he's cool. I guess that is all I have to say for now, but I think the Cook and Archie war should stop because it will only bring them and thier fans down.

I do like david archuleta voice.he must be a real idol.everybody amazes to his voice whatever song he sings will be greatheard.I don't know howmany times i spend my time hearing him.I believe he's not arrogan,maniac or trouble maker.he's natural, i felt so angry when he accuse as a gay.he's a real man and he keeps smile when he's accuse. i really want to see DA and listen to him singing it must be so amazing.david when will you come to Indonesia,my lovely country?I want to be his real admirer.DAVID ARCHULETA I'd like to say you're the greatest boy.what a happyparent they have you,you're natural and i know people love you so much because of your personality.

i'm indonesian.i actually never feel mesmerized to the singer as to DA.he's a great boy for family,fans and to all people.i don't know how many times i come to internet for listening to him.crush is my most favorite song.david archuleta must be a winner.in every problem he keeps smile.i'm so angry when anyone accused him as a gay.in his holly life people accuse him untruth statements.every song can be sung beautifully by him.david when will you come to indonesia i wanna see u closer or even sing with you.I do love your voice whatever song you sing will be beautiful.I SWEAR

Yes David archuleta should have won! Just check out xrank! He is consistantly ranked in the top Musician and Celebrity! Cook isnt even in the ranking except xtreme movers. Archie is in all 3. I like Cook and so does Archie but As Randy and Simeon said he had clearly the best vocals of the season. He is turning to be on the the top artists of 2008. Watch out 2009!!!!!!!!!He will take the world by storm with his humble ways and steelar voice! A voice that pentrates you soul!

This is great article! Thanks for seeing The David that his fans see! The only part that is truly false is you quote'He's controlled by his insane father!" That is entirely untrue. You have heard the sayin that apples dont fall far from the tree! Well if you have seen his dad with him and the press on tons of shows you would know that he is one of the nicest men you would ever met.Just like David!! He has made hugh scarificies for David being away from his wife and family to help David with his dream. Even Cook said that people where just looking for drama in that season. They couldnt find it so they made it up! Last season was a season of comradity between all the top ten! Anyway thanks for all the kind words about David. He is a true gem just waiting for the world to discover!

The fact is: David A. changes so much since AI. His album consits not just ballads but Rythmics too. His performance on stage improves each day. The same song sounds different each time he sings. There are so many different ways he sings "Crush".
It's useless talking about did he deserve to be the American Idol. The point that I want to make is: David doesn't have to be the American idol, because he is going to be great and his singing career will be soaring. To be the runner-up is better for him because it won't give him the stressfulness of being the champion which make people expect him/her to be on top and the best. Now we can see how relax David is, he is really enjoying his life, and enjoying being able to perform no stress. we can see he is radiant, always smiles because he is happy and he has a lot of fans who adore him, love him unconditionally and happy for him. Mark my words: David is just starting and warming-up, you haven't seen the real deal yet!!!!!!!

There is no doubt that David Archuleta has great voice a thousand miles than Cook. For Cook is a SCREAMER to say bluntly. There is two reason why Cook won: 1. It's RIGGED OR 2. It's SYPATHY VOTE (I don't want to go on detail on this one ) that's why a lot of viewer don't agree and accept that he is the rightful winner and if so this could have been laid to rest longtime ago and still being talked about and I don't think Cook is THE EPITOME OF THE TRUE AMERICAN IDOL its just laughable. During AI he did not acknowledge where he got his arrangement until the Artist speakout through EW Mags and I know he knows what he is doing for he is desperate to win, he taught he won't get caught - for it didn't happened 1 time it happened many times its unfortunate that he just got caught. Ryan Seacreast has to interview him to down play it and to kill the embarassment. This person has a credibility issue to say the least plus he is no novice for he has a recording contract before and just unfortunate that he didn't do good. I hope this new season they will get a contestant who has no experience and recording contract and who loved singing and got talent. The only one who would Cook has a great voice is his COUGAR FANS.

FOR THEY KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THE RIGHTFUL WINNER IS NOT DAVID COOK - ITS NO OTHER THAN DAVID ARCHULETA.
IF COOK IS THE RIGHTFUL WINNER THIS COULD HAVE BEEN LAID TO REST LONG TIME AGO - THAT WHY UNTIL NOW ITS STILL BEING TALKED ABOUT AND BEING WRITTEN UP. ITS SUCKS WHEN YOU WIN AND YOU DON'T DESERVE IT.
ITS JUST UNFORTUNATE THAT DAVID ARCHULETA GOT ROBBED.
