The American Idol Power Poll: Volume XI

Last week's American Idol Power Poll angered many David Archuleta fans. They can't believe we referred to their favorite as "boring."

Sorry, but we're not taking it back.

As talented as Archuleta is, Simon Cowell reminds us all the time that performance matters. All we see from Archuleta on a weekly basis is the same pained, emotional expression as he sings ballad after ballad. We'd never buy that album.

Who's would we purchase? Perhaps this week's rankings will give you an idea:

1. David Cook: As news of his brother's cancer has spread, Cook has managed to block out the pain and focus on fresh performances every week. We're ever more impressed than ever with him.

2. Michael Johns: Can sing slow, can sing fast. Has the look and the sound to really go far in the music world.

3. David Archuleta: Simply due to his voice, we'll never drop Archuleta lower than the three spot. But, as we said earlier, it's impossible to see how he could sell any albums.

4. Brooke White: We still love this folk singer, despite her difficult last couple weeks. Along with Brooke's water works, tears flowed from The Hollywood Gossip staff last Wednesday night, as we feared for White in the bottom three. Hang in there, Brooke!

5. Carly Smithson: If she wins, Carly can afford to buy her husband a few more tattoos.
