This was complete BS. there are idleast 4 people who should have gone before him. theres no way that that was the true number of votes. and ryan to me is now the biggest ass and i lost all respect for him. i loved watching him perform but hes gunna do great.

AND he also could have won if this show wasnt based on loving little david archuleta. hes good, but michael johns has a much much stronger, better voice and did NOT deserve to go at all

He was a professional singer with a record album.
This is not a venue for former professionals .
Carly Smithson also a former professional needs to go as well.

time I really was invested in american idol was
because of him, and ever voted. Michael, David, and Carly are the only true talents of the show. I
guess the show isn't about talent, just a predetermined few are selected to represent. Well I wont watch it anymore, but to you Michael

It was too early for him to go.He is my favorite and I will stop watching now..Honestly, I didn't want him to win because I know he's better+bigger than Idol, but it wasn't his time yet..I would understand if he left top 6 because that's life..Crap happens..But he knew he was suppose to be top 5..I refuse 2 believe that he had the lowest amounts of votes!

I hope David Cook is gonna win because he has the most of the talent. However Michael Johns i would put right next to him. Dudes, don't worry, he's already being signed by Randy Jackson! Brooke is nice but a bit short of a talent. And Jason has probably got a market, but i'm missing powerhouse in his voice.How come Amanda is gone!? The most original voice ever ever?!!!

I am totally disgusted right now. Michael was my favorite idol and definitely had the most talent. Voting needs to be changed, more like dancing with stars and I'm not real happy with Ryan {jerk} I think they should shock us next week and bring Michael back

I too like Michael - but if you compare him to the others, he hasn't grown since the beginning - what I mean is that all the other contestants have improved while Michael Johns has stayed about the same - singing the same types of songs over and over.
Another thing I just found out during his exit interview - Michael had to previous record deals, one with an independent company, then one a few years ago with Sony. Both companies dropped him and his bands for not doing well.
And as Simon has said week after week, Michael couldn't find himself - he would copy the artists who's songs he was performing. Simon kept telling him to make the songs his own, but Michael couldn't. I think that people finally saw this and that's why Michael was finally voted off.
To me I wasn't really surprised. There have been other surprises on AI, but not in the beginning - most of the major surprises have been towards the end - say the top four or 3 - and most of them are just odd - think Daughtry and Doolittle - both deserving to move on to the next level, but didn't. Why?
Anyway - Michael would never had reached the top five or four - in my opinion of course, so it's kind of better for him to be out now. Now he can get paid for being a commentator, interviewer and all that for all the shows. Because he's a handsome guy, he'll be wanted by all the TV stations for interviews, he'll be wanted by the AI folks for interviewing other AI contestants - you know the whole shebang. He'll do fine and maybe even better then being an idol.

I was in shock to see Michel going. He should have been one of the last three at the least. I don't even want to watch the show now because of the rude way he was told.

Kristy, Syesha, Brooke & Jason should have been eliminated ahead of Michael Johns. That is why few AI winner are not that successful.

im definitely done with this show. michael johns had more talent than at least 5 of the 7 left..i thought it would be him and cook in the final 2..hes my favorite, i wont give anyone else my votes and look forward to his career taking a big turn. we will be watching for you michael. oh, and ryan seacrest who i used to like, is someone i dont like anymore the way he handled it. it was outright mean and i am glad i will be rid of this show.

Michael should definitely have been saved. He is the whole package, an American idol. He is not only a great singer but he looks good too. I'm sure there is a record deal waiting for him. I'll definitely buy any album he puts out. Thumbs down to American Idol for not saving him like they did for the other contestant last year at this time by not sending anyone home.
WHEN is Kristy going to go home. She is the worst singer of the lot. Her voice leaves a lot to be desired. As for Jason, pretty eyes but is anyone home? David Cook has a great voice but a lousy attitude. Good luck to Carly Smithson and David Archuletta. I'm done with Idol for the season.

So much for a talent contest. AI is just a popularity contest. Michael Johns should not have left. He, David Cook and Carly should have been top 3. Michael has never, ever been in the bottom 3. Why did he get voted off? How do we as viewers ever know what the true count was? I was a fan of Ryan's but no more. he was so rude saying last year everyone was safe and then telling Michael he was going home. What a way to give false hope. Explain how people consistantly in the bottom 3 are still there. I will still watch this season for David and Carly but I am very disappointed on AI.

They are all good singers so I believe every week will be a shocker as to who goes home. However, the show needs to get back to being a SINGING competition not a POPULARITY competition. If people just focus on the singing they will realize that the top 3 people are David Cook, David Archuleta, and Carly Smithson. I feel that people are judging Carly too much because of her tattoos and because she's not originally from the US. Who cares..she's an amazing singer and is hands down the best female vocalist in the competition. It would be amazing to see her in the finale because I believe she could blow everyone away! I believe a David Cook/Carly Smithson finale would be smokin hotttt!!!

I am a 66yr old grandmom to 12 kids. I watched Ai just to watch MJ perform. he has talent, looks and he is the whole package. I will not be watching any AI anymore because the best performer is gone. As for MJ, I will purchase any cd he releases. MICHAEL, YOU ARE A STAR************************************

Michael is the whole package, it's shocking that we let him slip away. Like many AI seasons in the past we tend to vote for those we think will be voted off based on their current performance. We need to remember those who do a great job consistently need that vote as well!
Michael was one of my top picks for this season. The girls all gotta go in my opinion (Carly should be the last of the bunch though). Jason, and the two Davids all deserve to be in the top 3.

I totally agree!! MJ was supposed to win...he had it all and he was my favorite by like 50 times! Absolutely disgusting that he was voted off--i think America just thought there was no way he could be, and didn't worry about it. Stupid, stupid!
And Ryan-- can anyone spell JEALOUS!!!??? what a lousy way of delivering the news..so pleased with himself.
Now Jason and David A are my faves...but honestly, the life is out of the competition.

I have never missed an American Idol show til now. I could care less about who wins. David A reminds me of Reuben: great singer but who is going to go watch them sing? not me. I'd never thought I witness another as big an injustice as Jennifer Hudson being booted off with that incredible voice of hers and now it Michael Johns. He should have won the whole thing. Him and David A in the final 2 with Michael Johns winning by a landslide. Well, all I can say is Michael bring it on cause I'm buying and I'll come see you in concert. This is getting really old American Idol. Oh P.S. if you didn't vote off anyone on American Idol gives back last year what suddenly makes doing it this year an option. Would you have if it was lets say David A or David Cook??? Just wondering

What a stupid fluke. Everyone was surprised because Michael should NOT have been eliminated. And BTW... He was NOT voted off. You don't vote against people. Clearly, people thought he was safe and got lazy about voting. He was my favorite, and I've lost interest in the show since he's been gone.
Fans of his should go to iTunes and search for his ORIGINAL music. Try "The Rising" which was his band. I downloaded "Cradle" and "So Alive" FANTASTIC!

It was not fair because the phone lines to vote for Michael were always busy. If they are going to have national voting maybe they should have enough phone lines to actually vote. It would be interesting to see if the other two in the bottom had busy lines... I think they should have not sent him home but given him the chance to stay after Ryan said they didn't eliminate last year. Grrrrrr... thank God David Cook is still on.
