The show just turned into a popularity contest. Him and David Cook were the best two singers the show as ever seen. To get voted off this early for a person with his singing ability is a sin.
Maybe we can save David Cook. All MJ fand unite and save the best singer left. David Cook. I'm sure that's how MJ would want it.
Hey MJ...if you're reading this...I look forward to your CD. Call Dolly...she said she could write you some beautiful songs.

I am totally shocked when Michael Johns got voted off last night. Are the voters blind? He is one of the best singers in their batch! Could not believe that lesser singers like Kristy, Syesha are still there when he is not. That's just so wrong.

What a shame that the most talented attractive and humble star this show has ever produced has been eliminated. I am convinced this show is rigged and I am boycotting the show the rest of the year. How can Jason who sounds "folksy" week after week survive and the a true talent like Michael Johns voted off. They need to change the votig system. Too many 9 year old little girls vote who think its a longest hair contest.

IT"S TIME FOR A NEW VOTING SYSTEM!!! Seems to have become a "popularity contest" instead of who is the best singer! The judges should have half of the vote count ---simalar to "Dancing With the Stars" ---it's time that the "teeny-boppers" stop controlling the outcome!!!

The show is fixed. Go to votefortheworst and read their rationale. It's very intelligent. Johns will get a contract and do better than anyone else on that show, including whoever wins it.
Oddly, so will Kristy in country. IMHO

When popularity wins out over true talent this show loses its credibility! I believe things will actually work out better for Michael Johns as far as a future CD contract. Everything happens for a reason, it's too bad Idol viewers can't see someone with that much talent for the rest of this season. I have no more interest in following the show. Looking forward to buying a CD from Michael, hopefully it will include some Blues!!!

I along with other Michael Johns fans will no longer watch American Idol. It is a total disgrace that MJ went home.... and the way Ryan Seacrest delivered the news. I will purchase Michael John's CD when it comes out. David Cook is the only worthy idol left. Michael, you have plenty of support in the state of Georgia!!!!

Michael Johns and David cook were the two best talents on this years AI. America got it wrong just like they did with Daughtry and Ryan Seacrest is a jerk.

I've watched with show since the beginning - I'm so very shocked at what happen to Michael and the way it happen - Ryan was very unprofessional - it had to be a BIG mistake - Michael is one of the best and should of been in the top 3 - bring him back and have Ryan say he made a mistake - America is hurting over the loss of Michael and I believe you will lose a lot of reviewer - I know my family and friends are so finished with this Years Idol - you have great talent and you let them go and again America could not have voted him off - there has to be a mistake
I'll miss the show - but I can in my heart watch it knowing that Michael was actually one of the best you have ever had - other than Carry

Michael didn't deserve to go, he should be TOP 2. But as Debra Easterling said above, what is David Archuleta doing there? His performances are boring, he seems to cry every song and most important, many times he goes out of key.
Archuleta should go as soon as possible, I hate him, I can't hear him anymore.

Michael Johns was the best of the contestants on American Idol ! He has the good looks and voice of an " Idol" more than any of the other contestants still hanging in there or any of the past Idols. None of them have a patch on Michael! What a shock and what a way he was eliminated! Michael was one of the reasons I watched Idol but I have no more interest in the show and won't be watching it again or in the future. I know Michael will make it big time and I'll be one of the first to buy his CD. I'm not going to say goodbye - I'll just say bye for now - as I know we'll be seeing and hearing wonderful things from him in the future!!

This was complete BS. there are idleast 4 people who should have gone before him. theres no way that that was the true number of votes. and ryan to me is now the biggest ass and i lost all respect for him. i loved watching him perform but hes gunna do great.

He was a professional singer with a record album.
This is not a venue for former professionals .
Carly Smithson also a former professional needs to go as well.

time I really was invested in american idol was
because of him, and ever voted. Michael, David, and Carly are the only true talents of the show. I
guess the show isn't about talent, just a predetermined few are selected to represent. Well I wont watch it anymore, but to you Michael

It was too early for him to go.He is my favorite and I will stop watching now..Honestly, I didn't want him to win because I know he's better+bigger than Idol, but it wasn't his time yet..I would understand if he left top 6 because that's life..Crap happens..But he knew he was suppose to be top 5..I refuse 2 believe that he had the lowest amounts of votes!

I hope David Cook is gonna win because he has the most of the talent. However Michael Johns i would put right next to him. Dudes, don't worry, he's already being signed by Randy Jackson! Brooke is nice but a bit short of a talent. And Jason has probably got a market, but i'm missing powerhouse in his voice.How come Amanda is gone!? The most original voice ever ever?!!!

I am totally disgusted right now. Michael was my favorite idol and definitely had the most talent. Voting needs to be changed, more like dancing with stars and I'm not real happy with Ryan {jerk} I think they should shock us next week and bring Michael back

I too like Michael - but if you compare him to the others, he hasn't grown since the beginning - what I mean is that all the other contestants have improved while Michael Johns has stayed about the same - singing the same types of songs over and over.
Another thing I just found out during his exit interview - Michael had to previous record deals, one with an independent company, then one a few years ago with Sony. Both companies dropped him and his bands for not doing well.
And as Simon has said week after week, Michael couldn't find himself - he would copy the artists who's songs he was performing. Simon kept telling him to make the songs his own, but Michael couldn't. I think that people finally saw this and that's why Michael was finally voted off.
To me I wasn't really surprised. There have been other surprises on AI, but not in the beginning - most of the major surprises have been towards the end - say the top four or 3 - and most of them are just odd - think Daughtry and Doolittle - both deserving to move on to the next level, but didn't. Why?
Anyway - Michael would never had reached the top five or four - in my opinion of course, so it's kind of better for him to be out now. Now he can get paid for being a commentator, interviewer and all that for all the shows. Because he's a handsome guy, he'll be wanted by all the TV stations for interviews, he'll be wanted by the AI folks for interviewing other AI contestants - you know the whole shebang. He'll do fine and maybe even better then being an idol.

I was in shock to see Michel going. He should have been one of the last three at the least. I don't even want to watch the show now because of the rude way he was told.

Kristy, Syesha, Brooke & Jason should have been eliminated ahead of Michael Johns. That is why few AI winner are not that successful.
