  1. Scott Wallace Says:

Just last week I commented to my wife that I thought it was great that Ryan was not doing the b.s. toying with the emotions of contestants as he'd done in years past, and then what he did to Michael Johns??? Absolutely classless and unnecessary. To tease that last year no one was sent home during "Idol gives back" week, but this year....."we say goodbye to Michael Johns." Doubly insulting since Michael was easily the most talented, soulful, and interesting person on the show this year. I guess the upside is that he won't be tied to the ridiculous contract they make the 'winner' sign, and can sign on with someone who appreciates his real talents.

  2. Rachel Says:

I don't want to be rude, but what are your problems? I agree that Micheal shouldn't have been voted off, and that he was an amazing singer, but don't boycott Idol!! I don't believe American Idol is rigged, and I do think they follow the votes. I think that people from last year remembered no one getting voted off this week, so they didnt bother to vote! So, don't stop watching American Idol and continue voting for the good people!!

  3. Rich Says:

    FU, AI!

  4. Michael R Says:

I Think Michael Johns was set up to loose. I tried voting for him for an hour following the show after 30 attempts to BUSY signals I gave up figuring he was solid. I threw one vote to Jason and one to Syesha and got right threw. I was on speed dial and couldn't get "one" vote in for my man Michael Johns. THIS WAS RIGGED... NO DOUBT IN MY MIND, In Past Weeks I've always got through and that was when he made it... So to be last and suddenly I can't get a vote in is AMAZING.

  5. joe Says:

at first when ryan said syesha i was sure she was going home then he said carly and i was afraid she was going to go home (carly's my fav) then he said you are safe and i was flippin out!!! i was sure he'd make it further too

  6. mishy Says:

It's difficult to believe that Michael Johns didn't get more votes than Syesha or Kristy Lee Cook--it's so unbelievable. I have no motivation to watch AI anymore--no one moves me from the contestants who are left behind (ok maybe Jason would do) and in terms of singing--Michael Johns delivered everytime--I wish the rest of the contestants good luck but some of them don't deserve to be there and Michael Johns had the talent to be at the worst 3rd place so what ever happened was just ridiculous....

  7. Deanie Says:

I can't believe the votes were right. I just can't believe it. He was the reason I watched and spent money on Itunes. Won't be watching anymore unless I hear they bring him back.

  8. Andrea Says:

I was shocked when I saw that Michael Johns was eliminated. I loved him. He did not deserve to be eliminated, he should have stayed! Its difficult to think that he won't be there anymore. *sigh* this definitely did not make my day... I'm going to miss him. :(

  9. Dina Says:

How wrong America was with that vote! But the way the vote was presented was just as shocking as the elimination itself, it was really done in such poor taste. Michael Johns deserved better than that!

  10. chris Says:

You are all right-do something about it-flood ryan seaquest and fox with the same Emails, IJUST DID about Micheal and his tasteless treatment-that is the only way fox is gonna get the message!!!!!!!!!!

"don't you forget about me" - we won't Mike

  11. gary Says:

i think michael doesnt want to be connected with simon after the final - all the contestants have signed agreements that he can manage them and there has to be something that we dont know about .. maybe he lied about his age or has done something that he wants to keep private so he slips away quietly before the final ... paula was not surprised - they all knew about this before the show .. definitely more to this story

  12. Asho Says:

    BRING HIM BACK!!!

Ryan said last year 'how could we let anyone go on a charity night?!'

    its inconsistant.

  13. Susan (Huge Michael Johns fan!) Says:

I can't believe that A.I. and voters could be so wrong with this choice of elimination! I'm sure this was fixed and I will stop watching A.I. I hope Michael Johns makes it big because he is "The American Idol" Good-luck Michael and I'm waiting for your first album!! Love you!

  14. Kathryn Says:

Michael Johns was my favorite from the very beginning. I thought that he would be in the final three at least along with the two Davids. I actually cried when he got eliminated. It was outrageous! Boycott AI!!!!!

  15. Sarah Says:

The show must be rigged - there is no way he got the fewest votes. Our whole family will cease to watch Idol. Just go ahead and hand to David A. on a silver platter. Michael was clearly one of the top contestants - even without Idol, he will be a star.

  16. kim t Says:

The operative phrase for AI is "damage control." Ryan Seacrest hit an artery, and AI is bleeding out. Since the show's producers are so devoted to the "unprecedented" for suspense, shock, and drama, now is the time for the never-before bring-a-poorly (understatement) dismissed â€"very-talented-Idol-contestant-back. AI, punctuate the American Idol Gives Back campaign by giving back to Michael Johns and millions of fans, the real givers. Have Seacrest do the honors. America has a longer memory than you think. Setting things right would be directly in keeping with the splendid anthem "Shout to the Lord!"

  17. Paula Friedman Says:

Michael should not have been kicked off. He was the reason to watch A.I. No one has mentioned that Brook should be kicked off. I am so tired of her shaking, crying, looking sad and her boring Carol King songs. I certainly do not see an idol talent in her. So why then was Michael kicked off. If last year they did not kick off a contestant, why this year and why Michael.

  18. Maria Says:

Hey KimT...I really like your thinking. Do you think this is a possibility? Have you hear anything that might suggest this could be a possibility. I may watch the first five minutes on Tuesday when Seacreep introduces the judges because I want to see if he has anything to say about his behavior, but after that, I am done.

I have one other question - why would they even bring up last year's charity week and not voting anyone off if they knew they weren't going to give Mike a pass? Why even do it? The other contestants have said he's been a constant support to them, a sounding board (Papa Johns), he's been respectful to the judges, gracious to the fans...why do it to him? I just don't get it.

  19. soxfan1 Says:

This is like watching the MLB playoffs and having the best team knocked off after the first round. Why watch any more. I do like David Cook but the ones who annoy me the most and are still there are Jason Castro and David Archaletta. Jason whispers his songs and archaletta should be on the mickey mouse club. He just doesn't fit in in this competition. but at least he can sing! Castro plain stinks! Syesha has an amazing voice so i don't think it should have been her. i just read an article about how T&A won't get you through this competition but it seems to be working for Kristy Lee Cook! Which is strange because isn't she supposed to be super religious? This week I hope to see either Kristy lee or Jason castro voted off! They don't deserve to be there. Lastly, Seacrest is a Douchbag! BOYCOTT SEACREST! His radio show, his E! show even Idol! get your results and performances on line! He is a self loathing closet case, plain and simple he is a little bitch!

  20. ivee Says:

ARE U KIDDING ME!??! IT IS THE MOST SHOCKING ONE!!AT LEAST daughtry made otp 4/5 w/e it was..Michael made top 8!! and that's pretty mediocre..He is my favorite and I was so sure he was going to be top 4!

  21. Mark Says:

Brooke is gonna cry her way out to the number one. So forget about the talent!

  22. Carole Marie Koz Says:

Remember...treat others as you would like to be treated and Michael did just that and for Ryan Seacreepoop...go to grass little girl! Besides, teaching in a school, I have been in the music business since 12..30 years ago! Michael, remember all of us as YOU have made your "niche"...Carole M. Koz

  23. Alex Says:

Now Michael has chance to produce music on his own terms , so don't worry, he's got a chance to be bigger than AI has ever been, or ever will be!

  24. Susie Says:

What a rip. The first year I watch American idol,
(happened to hear him sing Bohemian Rhapsody
at Hollywood week and was blown away)So I become invested and appreciated his amazing
talent, even voting , only for him. You will never convince me he had the lowest votes. I guess its
all about the shock value and the almighty dollar.
Absolutely disgusted of their treatment of him on
elminiation night. Totally uncalled for. Done with
AI and send e mail to fox. Michael you are an
amazing talent and genuinely good guy. I can
tell music is your passion, may you receive all the
    success you deserve. Susie

  25. Margot Says:

Here's the truth about American Idol: It often makes no sense whatsoever. Viewers invest a whole season watching, donating money for their charity event and buying into the whole show and their pay back for that investment is a flawed voting system. I personally think it's rigged---always hoping to give big "shockers" so everyone will talk about it. They eliminate their best singers for the publicity. Why keep investing your time and interest in the show? What sort of payback is that?

Brooke is under talented. Archuleta has no resale value. David Cook is not consistent. He also appears to be a bit pompous and over confident. Michael John's did NOT deserve to go and yet nothing surprises me on Idol because the show doesn't---and never has---made sense. If you have a show where the best singers can be eliminated, it means there's a poor return on your investment.

I'm done watching for the season. There is really no one left on the show that interests me at all. And I'm not investing another minute of my time to a show that makes no sense.
