Did you all forget this is a Singing competition not a dating service, David is adorable and has a awesome voice, I vote every week for him and will continue to. Why should it matter who he is seeing or not. He is trying to make a music career for himself, not a wife. The boy is only 17 for goodness sake.......Keep up the great work David!!

hey gus. david doesn't have a girlfriend. that's not his girlfriend. i think that's his sister, remember that video where he was dancing with his sister? i think that girl looks a bit old. anyway, david is single. this is just a gossip anyway. haha. only david has the right to say what is. don't believe right a way. what a fraud.

and if she's just his frind, good luck to anyone trying to get close. he's probably got bodyguards, total tight security on their hotel, and probably make it really hard for him to be chased by fangirls. i know. i'm famous. its hard.

i am happy if he hasa girlfriend. at least he knows that she likes him and not just because he is famous because she was dating him before all this happened. also he deserves someone. he is a great guy! david if you are reading this look for me on american idol in three years when i am old enough to go on. that means i am only three years younger than you (wink wink.) i really hope that you win you are such an insperation to everybody, and even if you dont i encourage you to keep singing, because you will be famous anyway. see you in three years (p.s. i wouldn't mind if you voted for me) love hannah

it is unfair to vote for him just because of his looks . Not voting for the guy just because he's already taken is equally unfair, too.
Vote for him because you think he can sing well.
I don't think he would like it to know that people (especially girls) are voting just because they have a crush on him. AI is a singing contest and not a dating game or a popularity contest.

No way this is not true...in an interview,the interview asked if him and some other contestant were dating and he said "No,im still too young i mean im only 17,all my brothers and sisters have boyfriends and girlfriends but not me!" theres the evidence right there!!! REGARDLESS of whether or not this girl is his girlfriend it is absolutely not right to say things like..."theres still hope [that theyll break up]" be 100% honest if someone said that they were hoping that you would break up with your bf/gf how in the world would you feel? why would you do that to the boy? thats not even right!

JRT's post (3 up) hit the nail on the head. The fascination with David Archuleta has alot to do with his music coming from a place of deep faith, and stirring up a deep longing in a largely secular world...

I am watching with absolute fascination the phenomena that is David Archuleta , not because he isn't real but because it is so unreal to a lot of people!
The way he presents himself and his values was the norm in the 1950's. People his age were naive. A lot of the best music was written and sung by very young people, little Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, many Doo Wop bands, many early rock and roll, blues, soul etc. It was not uncommon for these young people to really put their life's work, heart and soul into music.
So why should it be so uncommon now?
Because this is the next generation, once removed from that era, who don't know about their parent's past.
Our present day society and values makes us doubt David and question everything about him because he seems so different. Speculation about his father, his sexuality, his intent, etc.
This is a sad reflection of our present culture and mind set, where music is cheap, sex is cheap, people
