David Archuleta Makes Paula Abdul Cry
It doesn't take much to make Paula Abdul cry. Tears flow for this American Idol judge over her assistant purchasing the wrong shampoo. Or a broken remote control. Or a poorly mixed margarita.
Last night, however, it was the performance of American Idol contestant David Archuleta that left Abdul's mascara a mess.
After the 17-year old sensation completed his rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine," Paula choked back the tears and said: "That was . . . one of the most moving performances I've ever heard. You're destined for super stardom."

I am a Public School administrator and have worked with young people for more than 30 years. David truly represents what a "role model" for young teens should be. He is amazingly gifted and has the personality to go with it. I am hoping he becomes our next American Idol.

This kid is so darling, so gracious and what talent. His rendition of "Imagine" was absolutely chilling! I'm quite certain he brings tears to more than just Paula A's eyes. How proud his family must be! David, you are the one to watch. No matter what happens with Idol, someone will pick you up and you will follow your dreams. Best wishes!

I love David. I'm a single mom with two daughters and I hope his wins. I'm not surprised Paula cried because that performance sure made me tear up as well. He's young with good morals and I believe he would be good role model for our kids. Best pf Luck!!!

I think he is an absolute doll and an amazing talent. Even if he doesn't go on to win AI, he's got a wonderful future ahead of him. I loved watching how he smiled every time the audience cheered for him. Heart warming!

I am so amaized of this young man. His talent, good looks, manners,sweetness. I tell you he his my american idol for sure.Its so refreshing to finally see real true talent in this generation. I am a mom with a daughter his age and I know how his parents are feeling. Best of luck to you. Our family will be watching and voteing for you

I LOVE DAVID ARCHULETA....that was the best performance i have ever seen on american idol. And it almost made me cry too lol.A ll i can say is that i love him and i hope to meet him one day and just HUG HIM or see him!!!!

david is absolutly amazing. I have never heard a 17 year old boy sing so well. i love him! hes so great.A great singer, very cute, has everything going for him. If he doesnt win i will be very upset. Last nights performance gave me chills, tearing up like paula, made me wonder how is all the other contestants going to react for the rest of this season. Its going to be pretty hard to beat him. I lOVE DAVID ARCHULETA! VOTE FOR HIM! ITS UP TO US AMERICA!

David Archuleta is my idol. i practicly worship him! he is going to win American Idol fer sure this season! aND pS... Dont give him and sympathy votes like the last page said. He has a kick @$$ voice no matter what he want thru as a kid. And he is only 17, and he's not overqualifyed to be in this compition. he is perfect and he is gonna win the whole thing! I LOVE YOU DAVID!!!!!!!!!

I have never EVER been moved by such a performance. I still have chills from last nights performance. You are a genuine talent, David. You have the gift to sing and you are in the perfect place. You truly represent the American Idol for everyone, young and old. I can't thank you enough for your true character, spirit, commitment, and passion for music. David Archuleta - you are AMAZING! Your performance moved me as well. You are sweet and absolutely adorable! Your genuine heart and soul really shine through in your actions and personality, as well as your performances. I truly hope you win AI this season. David Archuleta is truly gifted and blessed with the most beautiful voice I have ever heard....That voice combined with looks that make you smile from ear to ear and of course his personality. WOW! He thanks everyone when they cheer for him and he is SO funny too! Some girl is going to be very lucky someday...I'm compelled to hook him up with my 17 year old daughter!!

I have to totally agree with all of the previous comments. David is the bomb! I voted for Jordan last year throughout the competition, but I have to say, that David has a much more blessed voice than Jordan, and I have to by far much more blessed. No matter, what the final outcome is on AI, David is on his way to SuperStardom, and the only thing, that will ever stop him is himself! You can tell by his actions, personality, and attitude towards music, people, and life in general, that he has a tremendous upbringing from his parents and family. He truly symbolizes what a true American Idol should be and how it should be represented and portraited. In matter of fact, this is the most talented 24, that I have ever seen on American Idol. Good Luck David and regardless of the outcome, you are a true American Idol with a tremendous future! You will make it Huge!

As a 16 year old, I wish I was David Archuleta. Furthermore, he has to be the American Idol.
I actually think this year is the worst season talent wise. There are a few very special ones and the rest are ordinary/below average. Namely: Archuleta on the guys side, that Irish girl on the girls side.
Archuleta is far and away the best, but I could see the Irish girl giving him a run for his money. But I don't think they'll be any contest in the end.
Archuleta is what this competition was made for. Archuleta, indisputable 2008 American Idol winner, and I'll go as far to say the best American Idol of all time.

wow im 50 years old and i couldnt take my eyes off him he is captivating and such a good heart . I cant for a second think that his shyness is phoney i can read people and hes for real . i cant wait for his next performance and i never buy cds but i will buy whatever he puts out . i watched the show with my 12 year old daughter and she saw tears come out of my eyes and i had to leave the room for a minute . the last time i was moved by a performance was mikeal jackson , and this was just as moving in a different way . paula got it right hes on his way to superstardom. i think the reason andrea lushington hugged david was because she knows that one day she can say i knew him when....

I live in Tel-Aviv and I have been watching American Idol. In Israel we have never heard a 17 year old boy sing so well. I love David Archuletta from day 1. I'm hoping he becomes the next American Idol. paula got it right! You'd do anything to make them understand... but you don't know what to say... And you don't know where to start... You'd give anything to make people feel the same about David Archuletta and his singing. Have American Idol ever found any contestant that people could ever loved so much like David Archuletta that will makes you cry like Paula and many more!... David Archuletta is the Next American Idol for many years to come... He is simply adorable.

In my opinion David Archuleta is the best singer in the history of American Idol. And more importantly he has become an American Hero because he has an amazing gift to truly move people to tears with his incredible performances.
I love everything about him, he is such a sweet person, great personality and his love and passion for singing is so obvious. I am a 51 year old man and I finf myself watching his songs over and over again and counting the days to his next magical performance. Just when you think he cant top his previous performance he does it again like Heaven was so touching, Shop Around was incredible and Imagine was by far the most moving performance in Idol history. David is tuly a gift to us all and no doubt will be the next American Idol and the next huge SuperstaR!!!
