Jamie and Lynne Spears, parents of Britney Spears, arrived at L.A. Superior Court Friday afternoon, seeking control of their ill daughter.
Specifically, TMZ reports, they are trying to create a conservatorship, which would allow Jamie and Lynne (who have a daughter Jamie Lynn!) to make the medical decisions on behalf of Britney, as well as control her finances.
A hearing is scheduled for this afternoon (1:30 PST), and underscores the tension between the Spears family and Sam Lutfi, the shady character who, right now, is the primary liaison between the singer and her doctors.
Surrounded by lawyers â" including their attorney Blair Berk â" Lynne Spears wore a white jacket while Jamie Spears sent some text messages.
No sign of Sam Lutfi at the courtroom. Or Adnan Ghalib, for that matter.
The court has the power to create a conservatorship, which would allow both Jamie and Lynne to make medical decisions on behalf of Britney Spears, and to control Britney's financial affairs. The 'rents have made it clear: they believe Sam Lutfi has placed their daughter and her assets at risk.
That's their side. What about the bad seed himself? Today, in a telephone interview with Us Weekly, Sam Lutfi blasted the Spears' clan.
"Oh boy, her family is crazy!" he said. "It's just so sad."
According to Lutfi, Britney Spears doesn't "trust anything that her family says. Not a g----n thing."

This Sam guy just wants a peice of the money pie. I think he is bad for her. I also think the new boyfriend is nuts. Now maybe with her family on board she may have a fighting chance. I really do pray for her and hope that people will just leave her alone and give her time to heal. I have a girl the same age and I can't even think about her going through what Britney has. I know having kids is hard, she has to be on over load having had two in two years. I don't think Britney reads any of these but if you do and need someone to talk to just e-mail me and I will be an ear for you. I am keeping you in my prayers may the Lord keep you safe and close to him.

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!!!! Has anyone watched Headline News lately? Sam Lutfi has 3 previous restraining orders on him!!!! And one is for another performer, who was at the time, in the same boat as Britney and like her everthing went downhill for this person when Lutfi was in the picture!!! LUTFI IS POND SCUM!!!!! It seems to me he's the one putting tension between the family and her KIDS!!!!! He is after her money! Make sure the family looks at her will and what allowances lutfi may have!!!!! I'm Glad someone finally stepped in! I didn't think it was booze and drug related, but more emotional and physical! Good luck Britney!
