Madonna Named Richest Woman in Music

Madonna is the richest woman in music, according to Forbes.

Slated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction this year, the Material Girl earned $72 million from June 2006-June 2007, thanks to album sales, merchandising and broadcast deals, endorsements, H&M fashion line and Confessions tour.

Madonna, 49, is the richest woman in music over the last year. Her one-time makeout partner, Britney Spears, came in 14th despite doing very little work!   

Despite being insane and doing nothing but go to Rite-Aid and parade around in no pants, Britney Spears ranked an impressive 14th on the list, earning $8 million from old hits, royalties and sales of her fragrances, etc.

Following Britney Spears: Carrie Underwood and Nelly Furtado ($7 million each), and Fergie, Jennifer Lopez and Sheryl Crow ($6 million each).
