Kady Malloy is...(and I stress is) an undiscovered talent. Do you know how many people (musicians)are out there with a myspace page, selling CD's out of their trunk, traveling around playing small bars across the country just trying to make a living doing what they love? That's all part of it. Getting yourself out there. Just because she's a little ahead of the game doesn't mean she's a professional. It just shows she has the desire and drive to make it happen.

  2. ED Says:

Is Kady related to Marty Malloy the baseball player from Florida?

  3. anthony Says:

I think that Kady is my pick for the AI 2008. We would like to sponsor her and we are in Houston. An introduction to her would be great.

  4. cory Says:

Kady and Carly and Kristy Lee are all ringers. But last season was such a bust, I certainly will not complain. Besides, they're all so hot, who cares! Pretty girls who can sing always make for great television. I am very eager for this season of AI.

I have been watching AI since it first aired. As an amateur singer/songwriter myself, I have always loved the show....it was such a thrill to see these no-names from all walks of life get up there an audition...I loved hearing about their personal stories and where they came from, etc....That was the thrill for me.
These kids/young adults going for it all....
But this season we continue to hear about several contestants who have had previous record deals, and have shared the stage with many wonderful artists, and it takes away a lot of the nostalgia in regards to AI. As everyday people, we want to believe that other everyday people are able to break out and make something wonderful of themselves....someone with a previous record deal isn't, to me, and everyday person.
I keep hearing about how downhill AI was going with the talent (or lack thereof) for the past few seasons...I keep reading that THAT is the reason why they are bringing in so many previously signed artists...
But who's fault is it that the lack of talent ever even made it to the airwaves? AI of course...
They hand pick and choose who goes on and who doesn't...if the talent isn't there, and they let them move on anyway, then they deserve for their show to hit rock bottom...that just makes for bad TV...
There are so many wonderful young aspiring singers out there who will NEVER get the chance, for many reasons, to have a singing career...AI was supposed to be the show that gave them that...and from all they hype this season, it is becoming clear that that's not really what the shows about at all....
AI has lost it's original luster for me....for every 1 person with a past recording contract, there are 3 more lined up who are more talented but will never get a shot due to their lives circumstances...these are the people I thought AI was looking for...apparently not...In my opinion, they are looking for superstars who know the business instead of raw talent....I believe the public is going to take this very hard.....If I were a would be participant, I think this would deter me...I mean why bother?

If they were just open about people getting their 'last' chance at stardom instead of pretending that these people are total amateurs who wandered in off the street I don't think there would be such and uproar. Its not as if people don't have the internet-did they really think that people wouldn't find out? Do they think that America is THAT stupid? To spin the stories the way they are just seems totally deceitful. If people had record deals (or won nationally televised singing contests) just be honest about it so it doesn't backlash against the contestants. Its not their fault-I wouldn't pass on a chance at stardom if other attempts had failed. I think AI is doing them a disservice because voters will take it out on the contestants. I wonder if they are going to change how they present the finalists now that everyone knows the truth.

  8. Mariah Says:

Kady and I were in school together. It doesn't bother me at all! She's a great singer and a beautiful person. She deserves every minute of attention she's getting!!!!!! You have to know her to love her! You people suck! GOOO KADY!!!!

  9. anonymous person Says:

What's the big deal if they have had recording contracts before?
Have you ever heard of any of these people before they appeared on American Idol? Most likely you hadn't and never would have if they never appeared on American Idol.

Off Topic: I hated the way David Archuletta sang "Imagine"-John Lennon . Anyone else?

  10. Jennifer Says:

To coco- I agree completely.. i think that because AI did not disclose the past information of some of these singers, that a lot of the voting public is going to take it out on them. As I wrote originally, it's a thrill to think that something this big could happen to an average, everyday person....those are the people whom the public vote for..Even though it is AI's fault for not coming right out and saying that they were indeed letting people with previous contracts participate, a lot of the voters will feel as though they were deceived, and take it out on the singers by not voting for them..I've read on various other boards comments from people who have flat refused to vote for those with previous contracts, just on the principle of it...And that is not fair to the singers at all. I believe that they have as much right to be up there as anyone, but because they are, it's not the same show for me personally...as I stated originally, it has lost a little of the luster for me...I still watch it of course, but I now do so, judging the singers that had pre-contracts more harshly than the others...that's just the way it is for me...I do have to say that I commend Carley on actually admitting that she DID have a contract in one of her pre-performance interviews. I think that was very classy of her, and I fully believe that everyone else in her shoes should do the same thing.
To Mariah- I cannot find one post on this page where anyone was bashing Kady Malloy. The original question was "Does the fact that she was recorded bother anyone?" Everyone on here shared their opinions in regards to that question. Nobody, at any point, said anything so negative to warrant a childish "you people suck" comment from you.
It's great that you want to give her encouragement, but finishing it off with an immature, clueless comment, such as the one that you made, is not why people are on here. I, for one, would like to offer my opinions and read others on this subject...if you were to go through and read all of the posts by others on here, I think that you would second-guess your childish comment by seeing that it trully was unwarranted.

  11. Sheri Says:

It doesn't really matter if Kady had a record contract, deal, recording deal or not... She's not that good. She looks like she is pissed off all the time and unlikable.

  12. brittney Says:

This doesn't bother me at all. To be on AI you should be extraordinary. America doesn't want to see someone they could watch singing any day any where. I went to highschool with kady and she is such a wonderful singer and a great person. Ive had the pleasure of hearing her sing many times and she deserves to be there--end of story. She was born to sing, it'd be unrealistic for anyone to think she or anyone else on the show hasn't tried to make it before now. They are there because they want it...and if you want it you go after it every chance you get!!

  13. Jack Horton~Katy Texas Says:

LIsten to Kadys "Autumn Leaves" and you will know this is a true artist..If she made a cd,,So what?..consider it a demo of things to come.. shes a rare gem.The pearl of Katy Texas..I heartd her before i realized shes from my home town..and gave her a Ten...i never met her but wish i did,, she should be making many CD's,Shes the Next Christine Aguilara.. able to sing any venue.. the problem with Idol is they dont let the singers sing what they do best ..Their sings.. they tell them "ok this week you sing Mario Lanzas songs" its ridiculous. they tie their vocal chords and say "ok lets hear you"..and thats the reason the shows going down each season.

  14. anto085i Says:
