Stephanie Pratt Opens Up About Addiction, Arrest

by at .

One brief run-in with Lauren Conrad and a heart-to-heart with Heidi Montag later, Stephanie Pratt went from unknown to bona fide player on The Hills.

Spencer Pratt's younger sis sparked controversy on The Hills when she chewed out Lauren at a club, then spilled the beans to her brother regarding Heidi's hesitation about their wedding. Now comes the scrutiny of her personal life.

Stephanie Pratt's mug shot, looking seriously messed up, dated 2006.

Stephanie, 21, has been nothing but open about the bust, as well as her about personal struggles with drug addiction, in the latest issue of Us Weekly.

The younger Pratt says she started smoking pot at 15, and "in a matter of months, I was on to other things ... I was a blackout drinker too."

"Once in history class, I was so high that when the teacher wasn't looking, I asked a girl to feel my heart," Stephanie said.

"It was beating so fast I thought I was going to die."

Even Spencer Pratt couldn't deal with her problem.

"Spencer got mad because he was always defending me, saying I wasn't on drugs even when I was," Stephanie says. "He stopped talking to me for a bit."

It took a 2006 arrest â€" the girl had stolen $1,300 worth of merchandise from a Neiman Marcus in Honolulu, where she was working as a production assistant on ABC's Lost â€" for Stephanie Pratt to realize she needed help.

"When I was arrested, I was so humiliated... because of all the drugs in me, I passed out and had to go to hospital, where I called my parents."

"Getting arrested was a blessing," Stephanie adds. "I don't think I would have been able to get off drugs without that huge wake-up call."

I think it's brave of Stephanie to be honest and outspoken about it. Everyone has made mistakes in the past, and will also make mistakes in the future. We're only human.

I don't think people should talk down on what stephanie has done in the past and not know what she has gone through in her life.. All the dumb asses leaving those hate comments are just jealous because they are probably still all on drugs and they see she has changed and is making something of her life now.. Congratulations stephanie on overcoming your addiction
