wow im surprise that she is expecting . but you know what no matter what she decides what she wants to do with her baby and for a fact she is keeping it . and know this she is not the only young teen that has a big responsivility like that .many teens do and she also has her own personality different from her sister and i dont think shes trashy like some people are commenting she might of slipped doing that but you know now in this days teens start young having sex and everyone should stopp judging her .so what should matter is what she plans on doing.

Reading this I can't believe how many niave people there are. A majority of 16 year olds are having sex now, and that includes celebrities. Being an education major I see highschoolers who are pregnant often, and dealing with elementary students you wouldn't believe how much they know about a lot of stuff (drinking, drugs, sex, etc.). Children just grow up a lot faster now.
On another note, one of my girlfriends had a baby when she was sixteen and is one of the best mothers I have ever seen, she conducts herself better than most middle aged mothers.
Age has nothing to do with your ability to raise a child, you just must acknowledge the fact that its time to grow up and perhaps act older than your age.
I'm rasing my first child now at the age of twenty, and although i get nasty looks I am doing a damn better job than most parents I have met, i am still getting my degree (and I have a 4.0 thankyou), and still living a magnificent life.
So having a baby does NOT mean your life is over, having a baby definitely changes your life, but in a positive way. And, anyone on here insinuating that it is a negative thing is a horrible person...children are never a negative thing, they are precious and loving and sweet no matter how old their mother is.
Acknowledge the fact that she is mature enough to want to keep and raise this child, don't focus on a mistake that was made. Never live in regret, always accept what went wrong and do your best to make it right...and that's what i feel she is doing.

I think Jamie did the right thing keeping her baby. Who cares what u ppl out there think. She has enough money to take care of her kid. So wat is the problem cause she is a teenager. Who cares. U ppl would have rather her get an abortion. Also stop blaming her mother. Most of u kno for damm sure when u first had sex ur parents had no clue. My only hope is Jamie does listen to all u ppl damm ass comments. Her career is not over either. To me I respect her more. Also she is very talented so a baby will not get in the way of that. All u ppl were hating on Britney but she is still making milliions. SO the same will happen for Jamie lynn. Thank you

I, being a freshman in college, feel like someone as big of a role model as Jamie and Brittney were, they should feel a little more influential on other people. No, having a child at 16 does not make Jamie a whore, however, she should have made better judgment by using the proper protection. It was irresponsible. She is just now driving and can't even sign papers for herself. It was not a smart thing to do, especially being in the public eye. As for Brittney, She's a joke. I am sorry I ever listened to her music and even looked up to her. That was a mistake!!

I feel as though Jamie Spears is being very responcible for her action yeah we all know she is young at the age of 16 years old were having fun at the movies and mall but then again there are relationships that we are involved in and then there is sex a major peer pressure especially when being in a relationship and at the same time a teenager so when you are sexually active its not just about having sex but there are consequences and this happens to be one of them and she is doing the right thing and owning up to it.
