Akon Charged in Fan-Tossing Case; Spiffy Mug Shot Taken

This is certainly one of the more debonair celebrity mug shots we've ever come across. Akon is nothing if not sharply dressed... and a little insane.

Prosecutors have formally charged Akon with endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment, after he allegedly threw some fan off the stage at a concert in New York State back in June. There's a video of it and everything!

In his court appearance Monday, he pleaded not guilty to the charges, and his lawyer issued a statement saying that Akon "deeply regrets" the incident.

Akon sure does take a mean, snazzy mug shot.

It is only fitting that this Akon booking photo comes the same day the African R&B singer earned four Grammy nominations for his album... Konvicted.
