A jury has just awarded a staggering $11.6 million in damages to Anucha Browne Sanders, the former New York Knicks executive who claimed Isiah Thomas, the NBA legend and the franchise’s awful coach, sexually harassed her.

The jury in the $10 million sexual harassment lawsuit deliberated for a little over two days before deciding overwhelmingly in favor of Anucha Browne Sanders.

The case, which has gripped New York City, painted a picture of the Knicks’ front office and their coach, as well as Madison Square Garden as a whole, as a place where sexism and crude language were part of the routine.

Anucha Browne Sanders, a married mother of three and a former basketball star at Northwestern University, testified that Isiah Thomas called her a “bitch” and a “ho” when she began working for the team, and making unwanted advances.

At one point, Anucha Browne Sanders says Isiah Thomas than began encouraging her to visit him “off site.” We’re guessing that’s not kosher.

Thomas vehemently denied all of Browne Sanders’ allegations, with his attorneys going to great lengths to portray her as incompetent.

Thomas did acknowledge, however, that he tried to kiss her in December 2005, and that he responded with “No love today?” as she recoiled.

Madison Square Garden President Steve Mills said he spoke with Isiah Thomas about the incident and was told it wouldn’t happen again.

First Michael Vick, then O.J. Simpson again and now Isiah Thomas. It’s just not the best month for professional athletes making the news. Except Derek Jeter. That man is on fire – with the baseball bat, and with the ladies!

In other crazy Isiah news, how about that Isaiah Washington getting axed from Grey’s Anatomy and finding a new home on Bionic Woman! We give him five episodes until he is asked to leave that hit series as well.
