Sherri Shepherd Blogs About The View, Mocks Prayer
Sherri Shepherd made a successful debut on The View yesterday. In other words:
Unlike Whoopi Goldberg on her first day, Sherri did not defend Michael Vick. What did she have to say about the initial performance?
Read for yourself. Here's a blog entry from the talk show's new panelist:
I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of my fans who tirelessly emailed and wrote Barbara Walters, Bill Geddie and the ABC executives on my behalf. To think that you all took time out of your busy lives, leaves me speechless.
To those of you who prayed⦠let me tell you ⦠PRAYERS WORK! Because it is a miracle of God that I am now a co-host on The View.
To those of you who fasted for me to get this job⦠YOU CAN EAT NOW!
I just want to say again, I appreciate all of you from the bottom of my heart for your belief in, and support of, me and while I can't begin to personally answer all of the emails that I have been receiving, I am reading my webboard and chat line.
Now just keep praying, that every morning I don't put my foot in my mouth - but if you know me, it's bound to happen...
Shepherd seems nice and all, but The Hollywood Gossip staff also has a message for those that prayed or fasted for her to be named a host on The View: There may be more important causes in life to focus on.
Stop insulting the concept of prayer and a Higher Power by thinking It cares about who fills a seat on a talk show.
Where is Rosie O'Donnell to blame America for 9/11 when we need her?

I don't see anything she said as being offensive. You simply have nothing to hate her for so you picked apart her remarks. What she said was light hearted and not offensive in the slightest. Get over yourself.
