While Britney struggled at the Video Music Awards in Las Vegas, her former husband was concentrating on family, throwing a backyard pool party Sunday for their two sons' birthdays.
Personal assistants were seen picking up banners, balloons and an ice cream cake, all in the theme of the animated movie Cars, for Jayden James, who turns 1 tomorrow (Wednesday), and Sean Preston, who turns 2 on Friday.
Spears's parents, Jamie and Lynne - who aren't speaking to Britney, of course - stopped by for the party at Federline's home, joining about 20 guests.
They had also visited their grandchildren the day before, while Spears was hitting the club scene in Vegas before her widely panned VMAs debacle.
Britney and Kevin are embroiled in an increasingly fierce custody battle over their boys. They currently have 50-50 custody, but FedEx is seeking more time, serving subpoenas to people in Spears' inner-circle to illustrate her bad parenting.
Personal assistants Alli Sims, Shannon Funk, and Daimon Shippen, and former manager Larry Rudolph have already gotten served hard in the case.

He is a slime ball loser from hell. He never was a good father to his other children and the only reason he is doing this is because he wants publicity and money. You aren't fooling anyone KFed loser! What you do in secret will come to light. And I wouldn't let you babysit my dog!
